Board Information:
  • Bond Update : Wednesday evening the  following message was emailed to all district staff, parents, media and posted on social channels explaining the change in bond vote to the General Election on November 5th, 2019.
"Due to a technical error related to the statutorily required notice of bond election publication, we are electing to delay the September 5 USD 253 mail in bond election and are moving the election to the November 5, 2019 General Election Ballot. This will  allow the required information to be correctly published and to ensure we follow statutory guidelines. This technical error was brought to our attention this morning and as a result it is necessary to move the election to November 5 th .  This will ensure we satisfy all of our legal obligations related to the publication requirements.

While this delays our original timeline, we want to maintain transparency with this process and ensure the validity of an election. We will utilize this extra time to continue providing information regarding the bond to the public. Our focus remains with the 2019-20 school year and the upcoming November election. School officially starts tomorrow for all new, transfer, sixth, and ninth grade students.  Classes begin on Friday for all students."
