God of light, we live in the darkness of despair: worried about our lives, concerned for our health, fearful that in our darkness we are lost from you. The yoke of our burdens lie heavy upon us: our unwillingness to forgive, our fears of one another, our reluctance to share what we have, our divisions and quarrels. We long to turn from the dark to live in the light. We yearn to leave what is evil and follow the paths of righteousness. Shine the light of your love upon us and transform us with your love, that your promised realm may draw near. Amen.

Thank you so much for your response to the request for replacing our air conditioning/heating unit for the Sanctuary. As of today we have received $100,505.

Your ticket includes transportation from the church parking lot to Chase field and return. We will meet in the east church parking lot at 5:15 pm sharp!

| DESERT SW CONFERENCE UMW ANNUAL CELEBRATION |
On Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26, Sun Lakes United Methodist Church will have the pleasure of hosting members of United Methodist Women from throughout the Desert Southwest Conference at their 2019 Annual Celebration.
This year's provocative theme is "Come Along, Be the Pebble." The conference staff has planned an exciting program and some wonderful activities.
On Friday, at 6:15 pm, the celebration begins when we host a dinner for about 50 Conference and District Officers, followed by officer development and training.
On Saturday, check-in starts at 8:30 am with the program beginning at 9:15 am in the Sanctuary, followed by lunch and afternoon focus groups in Lindsay Hall and the Education building.
All members of SLUMC are invited to participate in the Saturday program. All Sun Lakes UMW members are encouraged to attend. Registration will be required; watch for more information.

Thank you to everyone who has so generously contributed rolls and rolls of toilet paper to the Hope Women's Center in Coolidge.
The TP drive will continue through August to amply restock the center's shelves with this high-demand commodity.
Hope also has a recurring need for other paper products, like paper plates, bowls, and s
tyrofoam
cups.
Donations can be placed in the gray tubs around campus or in he red wagon by the church office.

...Suzanne Campbell, family and friends on the death of her mother, Billie Hood, Sunday, August 4. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 10:00 am in the Chapel with a reception to follow in Lindsay Hall.
