Welcome back.
While it's not the opening of school we hoped for, the start to school this fall using virtual learning is one for which we have been planning for since last spring, knowing that this would be part of any plan.
Our sight is always on how to safely achieve face-to-face instruction for all our students.  That's our first priority.  This priority is embedded in all our plans for our virtual start to the year so that when it is safe, we can seamlessly transition to coming back physically to West.
To that end, West staff have been planning and meeting all summer to think about how to benefit from what we have learned from virtual learning last spring and this summer during virtual summer school... Click here to see the rest of the letter!
Adjusted MMSD Calendar
The MMSD 2020-2021 School Year Calendar has been adjusted to accommodate our virtual schedule for 1st quarter and includes an adjusted start date of Tuesday, September 8th - see the full calendar with all updated changes here.
Enrollment Information
Enrollment for the 2020-20201 school year is completely virtual! The online enrollment application opens on Monday, August 10th and can be accessed at www.mmsd.org/enroll. School and district staff are here to answer your questions about enrollment during the following times:


  • Week of August 10th, 7:45-4:00 
    Call the Enrollment Office at 608-663-4957.
  • Monday, August 17th: 11:00am - 6:00pm 
    Call West High School at 608-204-4100 and your call will be directed to the appropriate party.
  • Wednesday, August 19th: 7:30am - 1:00pm 
    Call West High School at 608-204-4100 and your call will be directed to the appropriate party.

    West Family Communications
    With the announcement of a fully virtual 1st quarter, we will continue to provide consistent communication to our families by email. Missed an email or sick of searching for your inbox?     MMSD Athletics
    The Regents Sports Kick-off meeting is joined this year with the MMSD athletic kickoff and is available for viewing on YouTube.  The meeting will go through the required forms for participating in the 2020-21 school year and changes related to the Covid-19 pandemic. The last section of the meeting, following the athletic code portion, will be centered on providing information to families that have an interest in playing sports beyond high school to better understand the process of college athletics at all levels. The meeting will be viewable following the initial broadcast at the same link and additional information is available on this statement.
     
    Please remember to complete all online forms and have a current physical on file to be ready for participation when we return to athletics. You can send the copy of the physical via a scanned email image to Sara Anderson [email protected] or through US mail to Athletics at West HS, 30 Ash St. Madison 53726.

    Coming Soon!
    • Bell Schedule - Soon we will be able to share a Virtual 1st Quarter bell schedule with students and families. For now, know that you will be expected to be virtually "present" in class for some hours between 8am and 4pm, 4 days out of the week.
    • Materials Distribution Day - We are in the planning stages of a distribution day for textbooks, classroom materials, and planners - keep an eye out for this information!
    • Grades & Attendance - Specifics will be announced soon, but know that things will look a little different from the Spring.
