The Chancel Expansion Project is Underway

with a completion target date of September 27th (FROLIC). The result will be a ramp-access and an expanded chancel. The project provides a variety of satisfying service opportunities for volunteers: demolition, carpentry, drywall installation, painting, general support and clean-up; or you could provide cold drinks, snacks and encouraging words to men & women using power tools! A project timeline will be maintained on-site so everyone can see the planned workflow and chose their favorite opportunities to contribute! Contact EMAIL JOHN.

Outdoor Adventures Group - Camping at 2 locations in September.

Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6 & 7- Squaw Flat in the Needles section of Canyonlands National Park/150 miles (2 hours 40 min. from Durango).

Saturday, Sept. 14- Chris Park near Haviland Lake 18 miles north of Durango. These outings are open to all members and friends of UUFD.

Unitarian/Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) Challenge

UUSC - our voice to the world for justice and peace. If 100% of UUFD members donate any amount, $1-$100 or more, to UUSC by December 1, they will send one UUFD member on an immersion social justice learning trip. Tai Chi Class Thursdays 11:00 am-12:00 in Bowman Hall

Tai Chi is sometimes referred to as "moving meditation." It is helpful for joint mobility, balance, bone strength and stress relief. The. group is suitable for beginners or intermediate practitioners. No special clothing or equipment is required and drop-ins are welcome. For more info EMAIL JUDY

Calendar Scheduling

I f your Committee, Team or Group is looking to reserve a space for a UUFD meeting/event for 2019, please consider reserving the space soon. First check Calendar to make sure space is available on CALENDAR, EMAIL JEANNE and give the following info: name of Member in charge, location, date, start and end time of the meeting/event - 30 minutes before and after will be added for set up and clean up.

What's Happening in Faith Formation?

You can call it faith formation, religious education or Sunday school. It's one of the many ways we grow new Unitarian Universalists. And there is A LOT going on! That's because this is an Interim Year. What's THAT you ask? That's a time when we use UUA trained staff (be sure to say hello to our new Interim Director of Faith Formation, Sara Sautter.) We use the interim time to take a close look at our faith formation programs and find the growing edges. Watch for more information in the monthly newsletter.

Fall Enrollment

First we need kiddos to fill our classes! Please click here to enroll your child or youth in our faith formation classes. We are once again using Soul Matters themed ministry with our children and adults exploring monthly theme together. Enrollment provides us with important safety information and helps us build our classes.

Well, Of Course I'll Help

Hurrah . We knew you would. We need teachers for all age groups . And classroom assistants too. SIGN UP HERE and then plan to attend our 2019-2020 Faith Formation Volunteer Orientation on Sunday, September 1 at 12:30. We'll have a light lunch for you and promise you will leave with the confidence to teach like a pro!
