We wanted to provide you with a few important updates on the project.

Center Point Road Temporarily Open
Center Point Road has recently reopened to two-way traffic from 29th Street to J Avenue. Later this summer, the intersection of 29th Street and Center Point Road will close as we reconstruct the intersection, but with pavement and manhole work completed on Center Point Road, we wanted to re-establish traffic flow until the next phase begins.

29th Street Update
29th Street between I-380 and Center Point Road is nearly complete, but remains closed for now. The only work remaining in this area is to complete the roadway adjacent to the railroad tracks, which needs to be completed under the presence of railroad flaggers. We are waiting for confirmation from the railroad on when flaggers can be scheduled so this work can be completed.

Elsewhere on the project, 29th Street remains closed between Center Point Road and Russell Drive, but work is winding down. The pavement is complete and driveways will be placed over the next few weeks before re-opening.

Future Intersection Closure
Once work on 29th Street is completed, crews will focus on the last phase of the project, which is reconstructing the intersection of Center Point Road and 29th Street. This will include new traffic signals, a right turn lane on 29th Street heading north on Center Point, bike lanes, and utility improvements.

The intersection will be completely closed for approximately 5-6 weeks.

Open During Intersection Closure:

  • 29th Street between I-380 to Center Point Road
  • 29th Street east of Center Point Road
  • Center Point Road south of the intersection for property owner access

We will continue to send you updates as the project moves forward. We appreciate your patience as we approach the final phases of construction!
