Are you a diverse organization in Newfoundland and Labrador with a bold innovative idea? The NL Workforce Innovation Centre (NLWIC) is excited about the opportunities for eligible organizations in our province to submit proposals for this latest Call by the Future Skills Centre.

The Future Skills Centre will test approaches for supporting Canadians through career transitions by investing $36 million over two years in innovation projects across the country.

Interested organizations should read the  Guidelines and Application Instructions , which outline a new three-step application process:

  1. Letter of Interest (LOI) - Deadline: 5 pm EDT, September 16 2019
  2. Full application (by invitation-only, for projects shortlisted from the LOI stage) Deadline: 5 pm EDT December 16, 2019
  3. Interviews with top-ranked projects by February 2020

The successful projects will be announced in March 2020.

The Future Skills Centre is focused on advancing evidence-driven innovation in Canada’s skills and training ecosystem. The majority of the Centre’s funding is devoted to action- and community-based innovation projects that help diverse Canadians gain the skills they need to adapt and succeed in the workforce. The Centre works with successful project proponents to support efforts to generate forward-looking, responsive, and evidence-informed solutions to better meet the needs of Canadians facing a rapidly changing labour market.
