A
medallion quilt, by
definition, is a
quilt that has a central motif and is surrounded by multiple borders. The central part of a
medallion quilt can be a patchwork quilt block, a panel, an appliqued piece, or a whole cloth piece of printed fabric, surrounded by multiple pieced or applique borders!

Block-of-the-Month Quilts tend to be either Medallion or Sampler Block style. In some cases there is a combination of the two styles. The following quilt was designed by Marlene Nelson & Marsha Doyenne.
Forest Talk Medallion!
This quilt features modern fabrics in a pastel color palette.
The Dresden blocks can be made the "double pointed" style, or with the rounded centers as shown in this picture. The full color pattern is written to use modern quilting tools, such as Deb Tucker's Wing Clipper rulers to save time and ensure accuracy.
