Mary, Queen of the Universe!
Today we celebrate the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

What does this mean? If Mary is the Mother of Jesus, and if Jesus is King of the Universe (God), then she must in turn be the Queen, being the mother of a king, our King. We see this clearly in the Book of Revelations 12.1, "A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars."
Mindblowing!!! I don't know of many queens who have a crown of stars! There must be some significance in that vision Saint John received. :)

I want to take this opportunity to give thanks to you, my parishioners. As many of you know, I was officially installed as your Pastor this past week. It was a beautiful and emotional evening, made more so as I was unable to open the church doors to the whole parish to attend. But I am extremely grateful to our parish leadership members who were able to attend that evening and represent all of you. I am grateful also for all those who made the evening possible, to our liturgical ministers, coordinators and staff, to my brother priests and Deacon Mike Powers, to my sister religious (Missionaries of Charity and Missionary Sisters of Saint Peter Claver), and to Sweet Mary's treats (Kristi Otto) and her packaging team (Carrie Hansen and Patti Adams). And last but not least, all of you, my parish family. For your continued prayers and support, not just for me, but for our parish. Don't stop.

Let's continue to walk forward towards Jesus together, bringing everyone we meet along the way with us: family, friends, neighbors, strangers, everyone!

Faith Formation
Congratulations to our 12 newly Confirmed students!
They were Confirmed on Saturday, August 8th at the 5pm Mass. What a privilege it was for me to be the one to dispense to them this beautiful Sacrament. But more wonderful it was to see the joy and excitement that they had to finally be able to come together to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit in their lives! Let His Love continue to pour out over you and give you the courage to follow Him wherever He may lead you!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
