Alleghenies Regional Safety Conference Opening Session and Keynote Announced

JARI and members of the JARI Safety Industry Partnership are pleased to announce the opening and lunchtime keynote speakers for the 17th Annual Alleghenies Regional Safety Conference.

The opening session is entitled “Medical Marijuana in the Workplace: PA Laws & Relevant Workplace Policies ” presented by Gina Riordan, Program Supervisor for Drug Free Workplace of PA . This presentation will focus on medical marijuana, how it applies to workplace policies and procedures and the laws governing its use in the state of Pennsylvania. Gina Riordan is a family advocate and educator dedicated to increasing awareness and promoting programs to advance prevention and recovery from substance use and addiction disorders. She has served at the state level on the Parent Panel Advisory Council and HR-590 Access to Treatment Task Force.

The keynote session is entitled “Conflict Management/Dispute Resolution”, presented by Dr. Christopher Smithmyer, of Brāv . This presentation introduces participants to the concept of using technology to mitigate some of the current safety issues in the industry today. Participants will learn about the paradigm of workplace conflicts and disputes and how to differentiate between the two. Dr. Smithmyer is the Vice President of International Affairs at Brāv Online Conflict Management, an international consortium of conflict management professionals. He is one of the most lettered men in the world, with a total of nine degrees, including a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, dual LLMs, an MBA, a J.D., and various other degrees.

The conference will be held on Tuesday, October 1 from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center located in downtown Johnstown.

Bridging Cambria County Presents Cambria County
Goes Back to School

The Vision 2025 Bridging Cambria County Capture Team cordially invites you to Cambria County Goes Back to School Resource Fair. The fair will be held from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Cambria County Library located at 248 Main Street, downtown, Johnstown. The fair is open to residents of all ages.  

The purpose of the fair is to spotlight and celebrate the many attributes of living and working in Cambria County. Highlighted areas of interest include arts and entertainment, recreation, education, sports and service agencies. Please see the attached flyer for details
