Dear Friends of The Blue Purl,
Let’s be honest. Love is hard. Not love at first sight, that’s easy. But real, enduring love, takes work. When you think of it, it's no big surprise that Valentines Day
began as a feast to celebrate the decapitation of a martyr. Love is loaded and tricky and there is always some risk involved.
We love our craft, but of course, that only comes with a lot of hard work and dedication to stick with it.
So here we are, approaching our first Valentine’s Day at the Blue Purl.
And it made us think how this day has changed for us over the years. Remember being a school kid and passing out cards - who gets the special one?
And now, here is one we can all relate to: Look at that awesome sweater pattern and think. “I love this sweater. I will make it.”
Then while making the sweater, "What was I thinking - I hate this pattern. What am I doing?”
But then when it’s finished, hallelujah:
“I do love it." (We feel your pain and admire your fortitude Maple sweater class! Let's have a party when they're done)
So as we mark Feb. 14th, let's give a special shout out to the difficult loves. The tree that's so beautiful but whose leaves are tortuous to rake; the challenging but adorable child; the project that's taking you forever.
Come work with us, on that difficult project, the one you know will be hard. The one that you absolutely love. There are hearts in our window and love in our shop. The Blue Purl.

Woolfolk Elements III trunk show is here and
the new patterns are launched! Nobody makes dickies look cool like the Woolfolk designers. Remember the

@woolfolk_yarn. You can purchase the

The delivery date is Aug 1. So drop off whenever...Thanks!

This pretty cowl is the perfect project if you’re looking for a quick little neck warmer made in thicker yarn. It only requires 130 yds. of chunky weight yarn and could be the project that introduces you to knitting in the round and making lace.
From the pattern: “Knit in the round, Sasha starts and ends with a bit of simple garter stitch. The easy lace pattern in the center reminds us of Gothic arches.” Pattern is both written and charted.”
Techniques include: knitting in round on a circular needle, chart reading and learning yarnovers and decreases to make a simple lace pattern.
cost: $40 + supplies from Blue Purl

Our shop skills at photographing are limited both in time and space! We need a photo studio - or a blank wall :) This a riff on Shibui
Mix No.3 by Kristin Ford. Maura helped Betsy reshape it into a rectangle rather than a triangle. Done in Silk Cloud & Staccato. It's beautiful Betsy! No matter what the photo skills are. We can see it!
