Summer in the Soo - nothing like it! If you haven't been on campus in the summer months, consider planning a trip. It's A GREAT time to be here. We have summer classes, summer camps, summer concerts, and campus housing available at summer rates. Come visit!
CAMPUS NEWS
Cooper Classic


Registration is still open for the annual Cooper Classic, benefiting the Lake State men's basketball program. Social events and practice rounds are scheduled for August 2-3, and a two-person scramble competition is slated for August 4 at the Sault Country Club. Details and registration.

Lake State Classic


The 30th annual Lake State Golf Classic in support of the LSSU Foundation Development Fund and Laker Athletics was held Friday, June 14th at Wild Bluff Golf Course. Including this year's net proceeds, over $620,000 has been raised in support of the University and its students. LSSU would like to thank all sponsors, companies, and individuals for their generosity and making the event a resounding success. A highlight of the event was the induction of Dr. Shane Woolever of War Memorial Hospital into the Lake State Golf Classic's "Classic Circle," designed to honor those who have supported the fundraising goals of the event and have encouraged others to do so.

EUP Internship Fair

The fair will be held Tuesday, August 27 from 2-4pm in the Superior Room, Cisler Center. If you're a local employer who is looking to hire an intern, you can also use this link to register.

While you're at it, book your hotel soon as well! We have rooms blocked off at three local hotels; any unreserved rooms will be released as early as September 13. GLSW 2019 is October 11-12 and features:

ALUMNI NEWS
Derek A Smith
Laker hockey alumnus Derek A. Smith '07, was named head coach of  the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL, a team on which Derek played prior to coming to Lake State.













Laker alumni Michael Smutny '17 and his wife Cassie (Ryckman) Smutny '17 painted a basketball court complete with Laker anchor in the driveway of Cassie's dad, Doug Ryckman '78. Doug and Mike both played basketball for Lake State.

LSSU Premium Alumni Association members receive a 15% discount on Laker attire and souvenirs at the LSSU book store. All you have to do is join the Alumni Association as a premium member - annual or lifetime - and you will receive a discount card good year-round at Barnes & Noble at LSSU. Discount not valid for textbooks.

DETROIT TIGERS OUTING

Alumni and friends gathered in Detroit on Saturday, July 20 to watch the Detroit Tigers take on the Toronto Blue Jays. Before the game, attendees were invited to a pre-game Laker gathering at Kid Rock's Restaurant in Little Caesars Arena.
