SURVEY TO HELP INFORM, PLAN NEXT YEAR

A friendly reminder to please complete the 2021-22 Planning Survey. LT is preparing for a return to full in-person instruction next school year, and we are requesting your feedback through the completion of a survey. The 2021-2022 Planning Survey is being administered to all current students, staff and parents to gauge perceptions about instructional models, determine what works and doesn’t work about current schedules, and obtain feedback about preferences for future years.
Please note all responses are confidential. The deadline to complete the survey is 8am on Monday, April 5. The following surveys are open to all current students, staff and parents:

Here is a look at the upcoming calendar for the first two weeks of April. The first week is a regular schedule with a Lion Day on Wednesday. The second week of April contains three days of asynchronous learning.

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER SPORTS ENDS SOON
|
Ten IHSA-approved summer sports will be added at LT starting Monday, April 5.
Each specific sport has different registration windows. LT will follow CDC, IDPH, ISBE, IHSA and WSC guidelines to offer the following sports this summer: Baseball, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, Girls Soccer, Softball, Boys Tennis, Boys Track, Girls Track, Boys Volleyball, Wrestling.
All sports will have a tryout to cut to the maximum numbers for programs and facilities. All registered students will receive an email from the coaching staff with details for the specific sport and level. Any interested athlete must register online. Registration for most summer sports ends April 2. Register today.

NEED HELP IN MATH? PEER TUTORING CAN ASSIST
|
National Honor Society students will be providing math tutoring via Zoom on the remaining Wednesday Lion Days (4/7, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12 & 5/19) beginning at 8am and lasting for approximately 30-45 minutes. Any student who is having difficulty in math is welcome to sign up for one or more sessions via this Google Form.
Re-entry program paraeducator Martha Berg will be supervising the peer tutoring via Zoom.

TWO ARTISTS MEDAL AT NATIONAL COMPETITION
|
Two student-artists earned silver medals in the 2021 National Scholastic Art Awards. Junior Megan Prock medaled in Digital Art and senior Kaitlyn Easterday earned a medal in Printmaking.
Only 10% of the artwork that advances to the national level will win a national medal, putting a piece awarded a medal in the top 1% of works submitted nationally.

Sophomores and members of the Peaceable Schools Initiative Club Marija Stojanoska and Angela Angelovska, along with volunteer and Speech Team sponsor Sarah Pouls help organize more than 300 holiday baskets for the children of Chicago’s Off the Streets Club. Click the photo above for more details.

Be sure to tune in to WLTL FM 88.1 to catch the Lions varsity football team take on Downers Grove North on Friday, April 16 at 7pm and Hinsdale Central on Friday, April 23 at 7pm.
LTTV will be covering select events live and others will be recorded and then posted to YouTube a few days later. Some events are dependent on weather conditions.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

Candidate information packets and applications for next year’s Class Board and Student Council Officers are now available. Click Election 2021 for details.
Applications must be completed by Thursday, April 14. Candidates must “attend” an online meeting on Thursday, April 15 at 3:30pm.
Applications for the Student Representative to the Board open April 5 and are due April 19. For complete information on the process, download the Board Rep information packet.
Applicants are encouraged to attend the Board of Education meeting on April 19, at 7:30pm. Interviews will tentatively be conducted on April 21 and April 22.

ROBOTICS TEAMS ADVANCE TO STATE
|
Four Robotics teams recently learned they earned spots in the upcoming state tournament. Good luck to Peach Mango, C of Spades, The Juice Bots and Baby Drivers. The LT teams will take part in the 2021 Illinois Vex Robotics Competition State Championship in-person match-ups this Saturday at Illinois State University.
