THE JITTI JOURNAL
Volume 8 Issue 2
March 2021
Welcome
On March 11th, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake and the following tsunami devastated the Tohoku region, causing widespread destruction and the loss of life. At the tenth anniversary of this tragic event, we at JITTI USA join in solidarity with those who mourn, and honor the heroes who provided comfort and a helping hand during this crisis, both from within Japan and abroad.

We are humbled by the altruism and sacrifice displayed a decade ago and during the difficult times experienced today, and hope for a kinder world as set by the examples of so many.

The JITTI Journal is a bimonthly publication of the Japan International Transport and Tourism Institute, USA (JITTI USA), in which JITTI USA shares information on transport and tourism developments in Japan and elsewhere, as well as recent JITTI USA programs. As a supplement to our regular events, we hope that the Journal likewise serves as a resource for the transport and tourism communities.
