Call To Artists! 

Farm to Table is a juried art exhibiton open to local and regional artists in 2- and 3-dimensional media. The show will help focus awareness of the natural resources and sustainable agriculture in our region, featuring artistsic interpretations of beautiful lands and remarkable products of our region. 
Artist Ingathering will be held Wednesday September 4th from 10:00am-12:30pm at The Carpinteria Arts Center.

BEGINNING UKELELE

INTRO TO PLEIN AIR OIL PAINTING

Painting in the great outdoors, or "en plein air" is quick, fun and creative. Discover how to see shapes, values, and color all in the moment and in the environment. Start with thumbnail pre-paint sketches, and then paint with oils using dark to light color mixing. A supply list will be sent upon registration.

BUSINESS BASICS FOR THE ARTIST: THE PRACTICAL SIDE OF EMBRACING YOUR TALENT

CIGAR BOX WORKSHOP

Create unique artwork using a cigar box, wallpaper and an object. Power tools (Dremels, drills, etc.) will be provided along with cigar boxes, wallpaper, and objects. You may bring small objects of your choice to incorporate into    your artwork.

THE ART OF ENCAUSTICS MINI WORKSHOP

Come explore the exciting medium of hot wax! This small class is designed to provide a personal, hands-on learning environment to help artists discover their own voices in a new medium. Students are required to wear long-sleeve, tight-fitting shirts and work pants. All materials provided.

FIELDS OF FLOWERS IN PASTEL

This workshop will focus on painting the landscape with an emphasis on fields of flowers. Demonstration and instruction will be in pastel and will include a watercolor under-painting technique. Materials list will be emailed.

WESTMONT COLLEGE RIDLEY-TREE MUSEUM OF ART
A docent-led tour of the exhibit "A Spontaneous Response: The Innovative Ceramics of Don Reitz" featuring seventy-eight of Reitz's best works from throughout his career and an all new full color, cloth bound, Don Reitz monograph with essays by Peter Held and Glenn Adamson.

THE AUTRY MUSEUM OF THE WEST
Join us to discover the art, history and cultures of the American West. Located in beautiful Griffith Park, the museum features world-class galleries filled with paintings, film memorabilia, Native American Art, and more! It was also voted "Favorite Museum" 2014-2018 by Los Angeles Daily News readers. Our Santa Barbara Airbus will leave from the Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Art Center at 8:30 am on Wednesday October 16, to arrive for a docent-led tour, time to stroll galleries independently, and grab lunch (cost not included) in the Crossroads West Cafe. Return time to Carpinteria will be about 3:30 or 4:00 PM.

HEATHER JAMES FINE ART GALLERY, MONTECITO
Heather James Fine Art presents a rare look into art history's past and present, offering important works from a cross-section of periods, movements, and genres including Post-War, Contemporary, Impressionist, Modern, American, Latin American, and Old Masters. Each year, its galleries present an array of museum-quality exhibitions exploring historical and contemporary themes, or examining the work of individual influential artists.
