Volume 3 Issue 7
Friday 4-H Nugget
Greetings 4-H Community,

Happy New Year to all of our 4-H Families, Volunteers and Community. There are a lot of things to be excited about this upcoming year! Be sure to read over this email for important information and exciting upcoming events.

Some people at the beginning of the year set new goals or habits they want to start or drop. We would encourage you to set a goal of recruiting new people into the 4-H program! What person couldn't benefit from being a member? We think that answer is pretty simple, none! Help us spread the word and enroll today!

If you have a chance be sure to check out our new Purdue Extension Elkhart County Website. Many items have shifted and should be easier to find. On the right-hand side, under Departments, you can click on 4-H to find all of our 4-H information. One of the many tabs is projects, where you can find all the information for a specific project we might offer. The volunteer tab has all of the items that a volunteer may need such as club forms. Under the Clubs tab you will find a link to PDFs for each club's contact information and meeting dates.

If you need assistance with anything please reach out to our office staff and we will be happy to assist you.

All the best,

Robby Kelly & Sthele Greybar

State Coding Event
Indiana 4-H is excited to provide an upcoming statewide opportunity to engage youth and volunteers in the art and science of video game design with an eye toward career development. Youth in grades 6-12 will form teams of 3-5 along with two adult volunteer mentors to develop a video game that will address a challenge they see in their local community. Youth do not need to be 4-H members to participate. More details are located at bit.ly/4hgamedesign22

Teams will work together beginning in late January through late March and submit their electronic notebooks and game samples by April 1. We will hold a statewide culminating event on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Purdue Fort Wayne, where 10 finalist teams will present their games to a panel of judges. Additionally, participants will hear from industry professionals and have the opportunity to gain career development insight from panel discussions throughout that day.

Contact Robert Kelly to sign up.
