Smith House goes to the Beach

Our Smith House residents recently enjoyed a long weekend of sunshine at Myrtle Beach.  One shared, "I t was so nice to get away and get in the ocean." Thanks to the generosity of a local donor, this year's summer trip to the coast was the best yet with a hotel right on the beach, lots of go-kart racing and a visit to  Ripley's Aquarium and Ripley's Odditorium.

The Youth Resource Center is officially open!

In case you missed our grand opening and ribbon cutting last month, check out this g reat video here.
It features a special introduction by SC Lt. Governor, Pamela Evette, a walk-through of the space, and information about the services provided.

The Youth Resource Center is currently offering drop-in services on Mond ays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2-5 p.m.

Community Bag Program

Pendleton Place  has been selected as the benefiting non-profit of the Community Bag Program for the month of August!

We will receive a $1 donation each time a $2.50 reusable Community Bag is sold in August at the  BI-LO located at 2111 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC.

Small actions can have a big impact so be sure to pick up a Community Bag while you are out grocery shopping, and support families and youth in need!
Donor Spotlight

Did you know that Spinx is a vital supporter of Pendleton Place's child and family services? For the second year in a row, Pendleton Place is honored to be one of five local organizations receiving funds from the Spinx Charity Classic Golf Tournament.

Steven Sawyer (Board Chair), Jed Dews (Executive Director), and Lynn Pilgrim (Development Director) joined the Spinx Chairman and Founder, Stewart Spinks, at Fluor Field for a special check presentation.

We are grateful to the entire Spinx team for their support of our programs and the Greenville community as a whole. They are also wonderful neighbors here on Pendleton Street!
Volunteer Spotlight

Our Smith House residents have certainly enjoyed their time with Paige Dillon, a volunteer who has coordinated a variety of creative, fun, and hands-on ac tivities for them over the few past months. They especially enjoyed when she brought several  puppies from Lucky Pup Rescue for a visit.

Paige says, "
I look forward to my time with the girls at Smith House. Whether we're decorating cupcakes, making cards or loving on puppies, there's always lots of chatting and laughter. It is a pleasure to be a part of a program that makes such a difference in many lives."

Thank you, Paige, for your support of Pendleton Place and our Smith House residents!
