Take a Trent Severn Trail Tour

Over the past couple of years, we have spent a fair bit of time exploring and riding the network of interconnected rail trails, a part of the Trans Canada Trail through the Kawarthas Northumberland area.
A start from Campbellford for a two day, one overnight ride, ending 119km later in Fenelon Falls made for a great ride this year, and Trent-Severn Trail Tour. Plus with its close proximity to the Greater Toronto Area, just 1 to 2 hours northeast, depending on your chosen ride start location, this route is easy to access.

Ride the North:
Lake Huron North Channel Cycling Route
This new section will take cyclists from the shores of Lake Superior along Lake Huron, and crossing 12 heritage rivers on a rugged yet relaxing ride. With 26 communities, including 3 First Nations, dotted along the way, a warm northern welcome and hospitality awaits.
"This route has it all, from stunning views to quiet roads following meandering rivers, through picturesque farmlands, and many opportunities to see wildlife and impressive waterfalls. Along the way we were able to enjoy the smell of pure nature coming from the forest and had the chance to pick wild blueberries from the side of the roads. Northern Ontario landscape is truly amazing!" as Vicky, one of the GWTA riders summed up the experience.

Ontario By Bike kicked of the long August weekend with an amazing three-day ride along the St. Lawrence River in the 1000 Island region. Blessed with great weather and nice temperatures for cycling our group of 41 could not have asked for better conditions to cycle this amazing route.
The three day long tour started in Gananoque and ended a 158km later in Cornwall
. Highlights of this trip included stops in beautiful Brockville with Canada's oldest railway tunnel, relaxing coffee breaks at the Skiff Cafe and Katarina's Coffee Shop, the Lost Villages Museum, cycling through the beautiful bird sanctuary and much more.

Ontario's Best Bicycle Friendly Businesses
On March 1, Ontario By Bike / Transportation Options held its 4th
Cycle Tourism Conference in Toronto. As part of the program, we hosted the inaugural Bicycle Friendly Business Awards selecting one Ontario By Bike certified bicycle friendly business from each of the 13 tourism regions in Ontario.
Only an hour and 20 minutes west of Ottawa, lies the small town of Eganville. Known as the Ordovician fossil capital of Canada, it serves as the gateway to some of Canada's most spectacular cave systems, the Bonnechere Caves. Located under a hill of limestone, the caves were the bottom of a tropical sea 500 million years ago.
Explore this magical underground system with a guided tour or even book a special dinning experience in the cave. Cyclists are welcome to park and ride.
