Online Bible study beginning in September

You will have two opportunities to participate in an online Bible study via zoom: after worship each Sunday beginning September 6, and every Wednesday at noon beginning September 9. To register, email the church at office@firstpresracine.org and indicate which session you plan to attend, Wednesdays or Sundays.

Those attending the Wednesday sessions will receive a zoom invitation via email. Those attending the Sunday sessions will be sent to the Bible study break out group following worship. The scripture for discussion will be the ones used in worship so the sermon will serve as a prompt for the discussions. The scripture readings for each Sunday will be posted online the week before.
A recent study showed that we do not always use our best judgement when we are stressed, and these are stressful times that can leave us anxious and often irritable if not angry. Centering prayer helps us lower anxiety and settle into a deeper stillness where we can better sense the movements of the Spirit of God and reconnect with our truest and best selves.

Centering Prayer will be offered initially online via zoom every Thursday at 4:30p.m. beginning September 3. Each prayer will begin with an introduction to guide our prayers followed by ~15-20 minutes of silence and concluding with a few minutes for people to share their experience with one another. When it is safe to do so, we will offer Centering Prayer at the church.

To register for Centering Prayer, please email the church at office@firstpresracine.org. You will receive an email invitation to participate. You will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with microphone, speaker, and camera to participate via zoom.
We are looking for household items, tools, toys, sports equipment, small pieces of furniture, clean clothing, jewelry, and purses. We will not accept outdated technology or old TVs.

Items for the sale may be dropped off at the church on Mondays and/or Tuesdays— 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you have items to donate that need to be picked up, please email the church your name and contact number. Someone will get back to you to schedule a pick-up time.

Our original plan was to hold a rummage sale Labor Day weekend. However, with the recent spike in COVID cases and the difficulty of maintaining safe social distancing in a rummage sale, we are going to offer the items online through Facebook Marketplace. Pictures of donated items will be place online and buyers will arrange pick up times. This will allow us to keep everyone safe and to continue collecting and selling donated items beyond Labor Day.

Is anyone willing and able to do pick-ups of items for those who are not able to do so? Currently, we are in need of a pick-up from Pleasant Prairie to the church for a bedroom set with a king-size bed. Please contact Shelley (262.632.1686) or office@firstpresracine.org, if you can help?!

The profits from these sales will go toward the various ministries of our church.

Thanks, in advance, for all your support and contributions!D
