Letter from the CEO
The last decade was arguably the most technologically transformational time in the history of mankind. The realization of the value of automating the future of mobility was established, therefore creating an unprecedented urgency to develop autonomous hardware and software systems.

I believe 2019 was a reflection point where the industry took a turn from conceptual demonstrations to production planning and preparation. We saw an intense shift from customers racing to complete a demonstration to customers refocusing on the core technology that will enable deployment at scale. We were no different, AS has now implemented amazing processes to ensure that the hardware and software that we create and provide to our customers are ready for the path to production.

Intelligent Mobility at the University of Nevada, Reno
Researchers at the University of Nevada, Reno, are using an AutonomouStuff Lincoln MKZ Automated Research Development Platform to advance the development of autonomous technology in two distinct ways.

Their Intelligent Mobility initiative brings much of the latest cutting-edge connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) technology straight into the public realm, while development of open-source autonomy software aims to aid the type of research that could give rise to the next generation of autonomous tech.

Read more here about their software and the CAV technology being built into Reno intersections.
Morton Venture Award recipient, CEO Bobby Hambrick

Giving back: holiday style
AutonomouStuff believes in giving back to the communities we call home. That's why we ended 2019 with three donations drives for charitable organizations in and around our headquarters hometown of Morton — and beyond.

We rounded out Movember with some sweet mustaches and a pile of cash for men's health issues through that national fundraiser.

And we gathered coats and toys for two other more local organizations around the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays.

As always, our very own Ashley Berquist delivered the goods to Goodwill and Children's Home when the drives were done. Thanks to everyone who contributed!
Meet the team: Eric Masters
Eric Masters joined the AutonomouStuff team at the end of 2019 after applying his mechanical engineering skills in a number of other fields. The automotive sector is one he aspired to join — in a forward-thinking way.

" I've wanted to work in the automotive industry and help make cars smarter since I was a kid, so from the moment I learned there was company like AS in my area, I was sold, " Eric said. " After years of designing tractors, garbage trucks, wheelchairs, manufacturing fixtures, and forestry equipment, the opportunity to work in such a forward-thinking industry feels like coming home . I've only been here a month, but I've yet to hear that phrase that haunts every tinkerer's nightmares- 'Well, we've always done it that way.' "

We take pride in the passion of our employees and are grateful to add Eric's expertise to the mix.

January Events: CES 2020 recap
We took on CES 2020 in a whole new way: with a massive pavilion showcasing Smart solutions portfolios for autonomous fleet development and deployment.

The event represented the formal unveiling of the Smart Autonomous Mobility (SAM) portfolio, with the full spectrum of products and services necessary to take an idea for autonomous technology all the way through to deployment.

If that wasn't enough, we also announced a strategic partnership with Tier IV to promote and develop Autoware around the world and the debut of a new research facility in Ottawa .

Read all about those developments and the Transportation Research Board annual meeting in our January Events and CES 2020 blog posts.
