Stocking the Teacher Free Store for the grand re-opening.

I know that the end of summer is bittersweet for teachers. My dad taught in the public schools for 29 years in my hometown.  I observed that feeling in him each year.  I hope that you have  had a chance for  rejuvenat ion  and rest  and fun this summer!

Crayons to Computers is excited to welcome you back for the grand re-opening of the Teacher Free Store! It all begins this week. You'll find a newly refreshed store with bright new colors, new features and updates to the layout and flow.

We're thrilled to be a part of the launch of Gorilla Glue's new school glue. Thanks to the company's generous donation, teachers will have the opportunity to try the new school glue (liquid and glue sticks) during August (while supplies last!).

We h ope you'll join us in a sweet treat! The  Busken Bakery Cookies for the Community program will feature Crayons to Computers during the month of August! A series of six cookies  (one with Crayons' logo and five featuring kids' artwork)  are available in  Busken's  eight bakery locations beginning today. The cookies will also be sold online (minimum order of eight) through  busken.com. AND Crayons to Computers will have cookies available in the Teacher Free Store for a donation of $3. Bring along your wallet so you can enjoy a cookie and share with your friends and family. A portion of the sale of each cookie (whether sold here at Crayons, online at Busken.com or in the  Busken  Bakery locations) will benefit Crayons to Computers.

It is our privilege to support you in the important work that you do. Thank you for your devotion and commitment to the children of our region.

August Shopping Info and Reminders
Welcome back to shopping for the 2019-2020 school year! Please note some important reminders below.

Updated Shopping Policies - Some of our shopping policies have changed this school year. In particular, our teacher aide/paraprofessional policy is updated. Please review the policies below.

Teachers are asked to please shop during their assigned shopping week (A, B, C, or D) in August, due to large crowds at the Free Store. All shoppers are welcome to shop on either Saturday (August 10 or 24).

Please follow all parking signs in our parking lot and do not park illegally. If the front lot is full, additional parking is available in our back parking lot or on the street. Do not park in any neighboring businesses' lots!

Please respect our Terms of Agreement that all shoppers are asked to agree to the first time they shop. Items you receive from Crayons to Computers are to be used in your classroom and are for the benefit of your students. Items you receive are not for resale.

The Teacher Free Store closes at 6:30PM Monday - Thursday and at 2PM on Saturdays. Teachers are asked to check-in 30 minutes prior to closing. Please be respectful of our staff and volunteers' time by arriving with enough time to shop before we close!

If you have any questions, contact Stefanie at [email protected].

Product Highlights

Gorilla Glue
We're thrilled to be a part of the launch of Gorilla Glue's new school glue. Thanks to the company's generous donation, teachers will have the opportunity to try the new school glue (liquid and glue sticks) during August (while supplies last!).

CwC Word Jumble
Steamers, donated by  Gaiam , and rolls of felt were transformed into these word games with the help of students from Xavier University (concept and 3-D printed letter dice) and Lebanon Correctional (assembly).

NEW Binders
Thanks to a generous donation from the University of Cincinnati, there is a wide variety of 3-ring binders available.

Chair Pocket Requests
Each year we are inundated with requests for chair pockets made in the correctional facilities that support the Crafts with Conviction (CwC) program. Unfortunately, production of this popular item is unpredictable as it depends not only on donated material, but the "workers" and facility supervisors.

Sample of a felt chair pocket.
We expect to have a  supply of chair pockets throughout this school year. We'd like to gauge the interest and demand. If you want chair pockets for your classroom, please submit your information via the Google Form, as  chair pockets will not be available in the store.

Teacher Appreciation Week August 4 - 9

As a thank you to those who inspire, educate and motivate our community's children, Coney Island wants to honor our teachers August 4 - 9. All certified teachers will receive one (1) free General Admission (with valid photo ID) and up to 6 additional guests will receive discounted admission ($19.99).

As part of Teacher Appreciation week, Coney Island is partnering with Crayons to Computers by holding a Push 4 Pencils supply drive throughout the week. There will be barrels onsite to collect school supplies. Get $5 off a General Admission Ticket when you donate #2 pencils, dry erase markers, filler paper, glue sticks, notebooks, 24-count crayons, and/or pocket folders.
