Peabody Town Hall

Thank you for participating in our Peabody Town Hall last night. If you couldn't join us or you want to rewatch it, you can access it here. It will ask you to register. Some of the major talking points to remind you of:

  • Spring Break is Next Week! Teachers will be not be responding to emails so that we can all get some rest and recenter ourselves. Thanks for understanding!
  • April 13th and 14th will be Teacher Workdays, No Remote Learning
  • On April 14th, we will release revised schedules
  • April 15th will be the first day of using our revised schedules
  • We will be offering more synchronous learning opportunities. Please see the synchronous learning guidelines.
  • The last day of school will be May 29, 2020

In the spirit of consistency for the remainder of the school year, we will not be altering our distance learning paradigm going forward. We really want to settle into this structure and do the best we can do for our students. If you have questions about the structure of the program, please direct your question to your Grade Level Liaisons. Thanks for your support and patience as we all grow and learn together!
Peabody "Staycation" Design your own Spring Break!

We know that Spring Break this year will look a little....different. To help brighten up your "staycation", we'd like to help you "Design Your Own Spring Break"! You've got ten themes to choose from, and each theme has its own shared photo album so we can see what fun things we're all up to while vacationing at home! (We ask that you refrain from sharing this doc outside of our Peabody community!) Have fun and enjoy!

A Note from the Development Office

I hope this note finds you safe and healthy. As I think back on the past week, the movement of resilience, hard work, and collaborative can-do spirit in our community is continually refreshing. Everyone has quickly shifted routines, learned new skills, and adjusted to our new reality. In case you need to hear it once more, thank you for shining so bright! In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is clear that as we continue to work collectively to find innovative solutions to the new normal, staying connected will be more important than ever.

As an act of goodwill, we are asking anyone within our community that may have a small business or may be directly connected to a small business to fill out a google form here ! Filling out this form will not only help us create a database that will be accessible to all who want to support each other during this time, it is an amazing opportunity to stay connected, build community, and actively support each other at a time where it is most needed.

If you would like your local business to be included into our database, please respond April 17, 2020 at 5pm.  Thank you from Ms. White for your continued support!
Google Meet Links

As we look to revise our schedules and meeting links, we will be deactivating all current links as of 6PM tonight. Thank for your understanding!
Free Wi-Fi Hotspot

During the current crisis, Ting has worked with our community to try and make sure everyone has access to critical communications infrastructure. Together, we have activated public drive-up Wi-Fi so people can access the Internet from their vehicle at the IX Park. Wi-FI can be accessed at this location from 7am to 8pm seven days a week. Below is a map of the park. Wi-Fi is activated in places that are highlighted in yellow.

There is a splash page welcoming Ting Park & Wi-Fi users that reminds people to stay in their vehicles, minimize social interaction, maintain social distancing protocols and adhere to the suggestions made by our local leaders.

In a further effort to support the Charlottesville community, Ting Internet has divided a $1650 donation among three amazing local organizations—the PB&J Fund, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and the Feeding the Frontline initiative—to help those who need access to food supplies at this time.

Please feel free to share this information with those that may need to teleconference for work, check in on friends and family, or grab some online education resources.

We will get through this together.
