UPCOMING
Power of 3
Please encourage your friends to join Scouting and enter in The Power of 3! We will be doing the third drawing on Friday December 3rd at 2pm!
The Power of 3 is a council-wide recruitment effort to motivate youth all across Central New York to join in on the fun of Scouting. We encourage youth and their families to use the Power of 3 method to reach out to their friends and communities. Not only will youth practice effective communication with their friends to explain the benefits and excitement of scouting, but they will also learn character building traits such as persistence and goal setting by participating in the Power of 3.
How does it work?
Each week for four weeks, (starting Friday, October 15th), at 2:00 p.m. the Council will hold a drawing for a Power of 3 recruitment prize. Prizes are for youth only that participate. Prizes are as listed below:
  • 1 $50 Amazon Gift Card (Week 3-There will also be 2 Mystery prize drawings!)
  • The Grand Prize! 1 Smart TV (Week 4- There will also be 2 Mystery prize drawings!)
For more information and Power of 3 entry rules, visit https://www.leatherstockingcouncil.org/power3

The dinner will be at the Otesaga Resort in Cooperstown and begin with hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 PM. Dinner and Program at 6:45 PM. A silent auction with a variety of items donated by area businesses will also be available.
Individual tickets are $125; tables of eight available for $1,000 and include a quarter-page recognition in the event program.
BLIZZARD CAMP
Blizzard Camp is the next event at Camp Kingsley and sold out last month. However, there is a chance your unit may not be frozen out just yet. We are creating a waitlist and should there be enough interest and unit commitment in the next few weeks, there is the strong possibility of running a second session over February break (Tentative dates are Feb. 18-21). Please go to the bottom of the page linked below to get your unit on the Blizzard Camp waitlist today!
SCOUT NIGHT
RETURNS!
Scout Night (1/30/22) at the Utica Memorial Auditorium has returned...

If you are a Troop or Pack Leader with Scouts registered in the Leatherstocking Council, you may call the Box Office Telephone to reserve tickets for your Scouts - on a first come - first serve basis (please try to call in with a final number as you likely will not end up sitting together if you call in twice to change the number of tickets):

Box Office Telephone: (315) 790-9070 (phone number also linked under "find tickets" on this event page).

500 FREE tickets have once again been set aside for Scouts in the Leatherstocking Council by Coach Gary Heenan and the Utica College Men's Hockey Team.

Special thanks to former Council board member William Kline, president of Adirondack Financial Services and proud Eagle Scout alumnus, for creating this wonderful partnership many years ago.
SAVE THE DATE FOR THE
FIRST AID MEET!
Greetings to Scouting Volunteers!

We hope this finds you healthy and safe. Customarily, the Leatherstocking Council First Aid Meet takes place during March of a given year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is again proving to be challenging. However, we are optimistic that we will be able to hold a First Aid Meet in March of 2022. We are in the process of securing a location which is the remaining hurdle to overcome.

That being said, please Save-The-Date of Friday, March 11, 2022 for the Leatherstocking Council First Aid Meet. We'll have a snow date of Friday, March 18, 2022. The format of the meet will be the same one that you are used to but the location may be different. We expect to have a definitive decision soon after the New Year and we will be sending out information as soon as it is made available to us.

So, if you would, dust off your First Aid Meet equipment kits, practice your stretcher building and please mark your calendars for the 2022 First Aid Meet to be taking place on March 11, 2022. If you have any questions, please contact either Chuck Whitman at 518-339-5428 or Dave Leidy at 607-563-2905. Thank you for your time and all that you do for Scouting.

Yours in Scouting,
The Leatherstocking Council First Aid Meet Committee
