Lafayette Art & Wine Festival
Saturday, September 21, 10am-7pm and Sunday, September 22, 10am-6pm
Save the date for the 24th Annual Lafayette Art & Wine Festival!
Last year over 85,000 people strolled among the booths of art, handmade crafts, enjoying foods from our local restaurants, food vendors and food trucks as well as quality wines and microbrews, pausing to enjoy continuous music from our four stages and plenty of shopping in our trendy downtown stores as well as the local artist alley, and pop-up commercial vendor booths for the weekend.
NEW this year
we are hosting an
Xfinity Pigskin Party
in the Postino Courtyard on Mount Diablo Blvd. Centrally located, we will feature 9 foot by 12 foot big screen TV so that our festival goers will not miss updates on their favorite college or NFL or MLB team. It is will be a place to meet and catch up with friends!

Lafayette Res Run for Education
Who will win as top beneficiary school? Register for the race today and choose your school.
The Lafayette Chamber and the City of Lafayette are co-presenters of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which will be held
Sunday, October 20. The event is co-sponsored by
Oakwood Athletic Club and
Sutter Health.
The Run is the city’s most popular “family affair,” involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. Participants compete in a 10k or 5k certified runs and a 2 mile run/walk for fun through downtown Lafayette, around the Lafayette Reservoir (10k only) and back. Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade” and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents share the streets on that beautiful Sunday morning. Don’t miss the live music by the Stanley Middle School Orchestra and the Healthy Lifestyles Fair!

“Lightness of Seeing,” at Moraga Art Gallery
Runs through August 10, 522 Center Street in Moraga’s Rheem Shopping Center.
The Moraga Art Gallery is proud to announce a new show featuring the work of member Lucy Beck, the artist-photographer who creates images that encourage viewers to tread lightly on the ground because, as she says, “There is remarkable beauty there.” A resident of Lafayette, Lucy “paints” floral portraits with light to show the astonishing variety of colors and shapes of small flowers in our gardens, fields and woodlands. The gallery’s show, which also includes work by its 14 member artists, runs through August 10.

Help a Foster Child Get Back to Being a Kid. Become a CASA Volunteer.
Foster children can spend years moving from one foster home to another. They face lasting trauma, homelessness, unemployment and even prison as adults. But you can create a positive change by becoming a CASA volunteer. Court Appointed Special Advocates work one-on-one with foster children to ensure that they receive consistent support, health, education and therapeutic services, and positive social and recreational opportunities.

Cancer Support Community (CSC) is planning to establish a rustic campus for health and healing in Lafayette. Join CSC for an ‘open-house’ style tour of our beautiful land! We will share on our planning and opportunities to be part of this exciting movement for our members and their loved ones! Next tour is October 12. The property is located on the south side of Mt. An end of summer family day on Plaza Park! Assistance League will have tables featuring our nine philanthropic programs, gift baskets, give-away logo beach balls and face painting. Experts will be on hand to explain how you can apply for an appointment to a State Board or Commission, and will share some best practices for a successful application.

4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament for A Brighter Day
Monday, September 9, 11:30am (Shotgun Start)-6:30pm, Callippee Golf Preserve, Pleasanton
This fun day will be completed, including endless appetizers and awards by 6:30 PM. The format will be a fun scramble golf day with lots of food, drink, awards and laughs. As always, all proceeds will go to Unite Stress and Depression with Teens using a Teenage Band Format and handing out backpacks filled with these resources.

Get involved with your community – be a part of Business Volunteer Impact Program 2019!
Contra Costa Crisis Center compiles volunteer projects with nonprofits in Alameda and Contra Costa counties to be completed during the event in September. This year, the event is one month long, and runs from September 9 to October 5. The majority of projects are ½ day in length, and many projects are offered on multiple days. Your team of 6-50 (or more) employees can review the projects, and then sign up for the project via our portal. Project descriptions will provide location, times, parking, tasks, and details needed to select a suitable project for your team. Select one or pick multiple projects for your team throughout the week. There is no fee for your team to participate. Registration begins on July 22 and ends on August 14.
