Dear St. Louis families,
A reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow, Friday, March 19th as teachers and staff will be participating in diocesan training and development, please keep them in your prayers. Friday is also the Solemnity of St. Joseph. We are called to mark this day with mass and/or special prayers for St. Joseph’s intercession. Pope Francis declared Dec. 8, 2020-Dec. 8, 2021 the “Year of St. Joseph” because it celebrates the 150th anniversary of the declaration of St. Joseph as the Patron of the Universal Church. Pope Francis describes Saint Joseph as a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father; a father who is creatively courageous, a working father who is the ultimate example of love and sacrifice. St. Joseph ‘s life encourages us to develop a love and respect for Jesus and Mary. As head of the Holy Family, Joseph was always thinking about them—everything he did was directed to their benefit. From St. Joseph, we learn the dignity of work—that we can find meaning and holiness through a faithfulness and commitment to our daily work. Below is the Prayer of St. Joseph that Pope Francis offered for this special year:
Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.
Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father
and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage,
and defend us from every evil. Amen.
I hope that as a family you can add this to your prayers during this ongoing year. I hope all of you have a relaxing and enjoyable long weekend!
Peace,
Anne Dyke
Principal

A special note to Hawk's Hippity-Hop Egg Hunt attendees…
The school and PTO are EGGcited to be able to provide this special day for our students! This is a private event for St. Louis School and Preschool families only. As much as we'd like to welcome children from outside our school community, current COVID restrictions prevent us from doing so. Please do not bring guests from outside your immediate family. We are taking this very seriously; a lot of effort and planning has gone into making this a safe and compliant event. Please do your part by following these simple guidelines:
- A maximum of 25 individuals may be in attendance at each scheduled egg hunt (this number includes 1 parent per family plus children). Individuals who are not on the guest list will be asked to remain outside the event area.
-
1 adult per family may attend; no exceptions (this will be strictly enforced to allow as many St. Louis students to participate AND to stay within current guidelines for outdoor social events).
- All children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
-
Children must be 3 y/o and older to participate; siblings younger than 3 y/o should remain in a stroller or appropriate baby carrier at all times within the event area.
-
Only children will be allowed in the egg hunt; parents must remain socially distanced in the spectator area around the perimeter of the egg hunt.
- Masks are required for all participants and spectators.
-
Reservations are required for the egg hunts; no walk-in’s (we must have record of who is in attendance).
If you need to modify your reservation to comply with these guidelines, please do so. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in making this a fun and memorable event for our children!
