This session will provide updates on new knowledge regarding post-traumatic musculoskeletal trauma with a focus on traumatic neck pain (whiplash-associated disorder). New tools that are available to clinicians now will be described, in addition to novel directions currently underway both in Canada and internationally to demystify the clinical presentation of patients following trauma. These include current large-scale explorations of where biology and psychology are reflected in one another, and how those are affected by the social context of the patient.
