Hello CWNY Members and Friends,

We would like to share some exciting upcoming events with you! Read through our newsletter for details.

The in-person CWNY Annual Fort Totten Walk/Run was a huge success! Thank you to all who attended. There is still time to register and donate to the virtual Walk/Run until Oct. 24th.

This past month, we also had the She-session Panel Discussion, the Career Focused Mode: Reaching Your Wildest Dreams presentation, and the Consumer Credit Financial Literacy Series Workshop which were greatly empowering for women of New York!

Starting November 4th, we will have a Career Development/Job Skills workshop the 1st Thursday of each month. Our first workshop will be on "NYC Human Rights Law and the Workplace" on November 4th at 12 PM.

Our next Financial Literacy Workshop will be on Wed. Oct. 17th at 8 PM and the topic will be "Credit Scores: Mysterious but Important!"

CWNY Virtual Elections and Annual Membership Meeting will be on Monday, Oct. 25th at 7 PM via Zoom. The link to join is here, no pre-registration required. We hope to see you there!

CWNY is co-sponsoring a Halloween Family Fun Evening at Fort Totten Park on Saturday, Oct. 23rd from 4 - 7 PM. There will be a haunted house, obstacle course, arts and crafts, sack races, puppet shows, and nature-themed games.

We're also still welcoming people to answer our Pandemic Survey.

For family members who have found themselves taking care of their aging loved ones. This group discusses caregiving issues and concerns in a supportive environment.

We care deeply about the environment. Our program focuses on the connection between the environment and women.

Our gardening and sustainability workshop series will start in-person in the Fall at our Fort Totten location. Stay tuned.

CWNY Walk/Run

We held our first in-person event at our new Fort Totten location since our Grand Opening with huge success! Thank you to all who attended. Check out our group photo! We look forward to holding more programs there.

She-cession Panel Discussion:
"Where Are the Jobs and How Do We Get Them?"
Lisa Boily, Belinda Simmons, and Kati Fernandez discussed how women have been affected in the workplace, projections on where jobs will be in the future in a market where careers are constantly changing, NYC Human Rights Law and the Workplace, and women who are in male-dominated careers.
