End of Year Message from Debbie
End of Year Message From Debbie
Dear Families,

This has certainly been an extraordinary school year and one that none of us will soon forget. As a community we have remained strong and I am humbled by the generosity you have shown by sharing heartfelt comments and dedication to Jarrow during these extraordinary times.

Thank you to our awesome Faculty!

I want to thank our entire faculty for their dedication, time and effort given to support our children. I have always known how fortunate we are to have such a caring group of people working to ensure our children have the type of experiences that make for a well-rounded Montessori education. It is with deep appreciation that I thank all of our classroom and co-curricular teachers, administrative staff, assistants, after care,  floats, and our learning support team for serving our children and families so richly.  Jarrow is truly a special place and I feel very privileged to be a part of this community.

Thank you Parents!

We are so fortunate to have a devoted community of parents, and I thank each of you who have contributed not only your time as volunteers, but also your financial resources to the Annual Fund and The Knowles Family Fund. Thank you also to all who have provided goods and resources to the school. We depend heavily on our community for help and support – it’s a key element in the success of our school. The support you provide and the work you do helps further our mission on a daily basis.

I want to thank all our parent volunteers and Jarrow Parent Association Leads, Megan Bolitho, Kirsten Ferri, and Kristen Bendele for expanding the role and work of the JPA. To the Board of Trustees, led by Chair Jennifer West, for their commitment to our children and to ensuring the school is professionally governed. I want to especially thank Drew Knowles, Jennifer West and Kristin Lawrence for working tirelessly on the business finance committee. Thank you also to Lindsey Cynoski, Nancee Gold and William Hamilton for contributing to the work of the Annual Fund and Gala committees. And finally to Jessica Sword and Haylie Lott for your help on governance and the Identity Committees.  I am so very grateful for all the time and effort all the board members contributed by attending meetings and appreciate their commitment to serve our children.
Class of 2020 Graduate Celebrations!

With the closing of another school year, we send our 6th grade graduates off on the next phase of their educational journey - middle school! Many of these students have been at Jarrow since they were very young and they take with them not only wisdom and knowledge, but also the fulfilled goals that distinguish our Montessori students.

It is with immense pride that we acknowledge our 2020 Jarrow 6th Grade Graduates- please take this moment to congratulate Lola Green (Friends School), Tadan Helm (Friends School), Noah Linden (Casey Middle School), Nyko Callas (Vail Mountain School) and Avienda Schatz-Devine (Friends School). These students are all heading off to experience the world of middle school and I feel pretty confident that their Montessori values and academic preparation will enable them all to do amazing things in the future. The Cypress Class will be having a small graduation at the end of June for our 6th graders and their parents. We will certainly miss these smart, creative, generous and loving children, and wish them every success.

July Summer Camp Programming Cancelled

The decision to cancel the July Camp offerings has been finalized. Given the uncertainty of the virus over the next month, we believe it best to make the prudent decision to keep campus closed. This closure will give us time to work on the classrooms, outdoor areas, and make any modifications necessary for the fall. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope this early notice will help with your summer planning.

Great Alternatives for Summer Programming offered by Jarrow Faculty

In an effort to serve your children over the summer, we have developed programs for Toddlers through Upper Elementary in Art, Music, Science, Literacy, Math, and Executive Functioning. All programs will be delivered through Zoom in small class sizes. Elementary Math, Literacy, Executive Functioning   Art, Music & Science

We will be staying in touch via the Jarrow Journal over the summer as new developments regarding COVID-19 come to light. The administrative team will be available throughout the summer and happy to answer any questions or provide any assistance you need. Email will be the best form of communication with the quickest response.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer and hope that we are all together, in person, when school resumes in August.

Always in peace,

Debbie

Dear Friends,

As we close out this very unique spring semester, our family is reminded of how much Jarrow Montessori means to us. We have been members of the Jarrow Community for seven years. Brad and I have enjoyed many pancake breakfasts,
science fairs, and holiday parties over the years. Along the way, the teachers and admin team have always made us feel like family.

For our son Liam, Jarrow is so much more than a school. It is his community of learning and of friendship. It has always been Liam’s love for his school that has inspired us to participate more and give more, whether it’s through volunteering for events or bidding on classroom projects at the Gala.

Now, as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, I have gone from a parent who
wants to support my son’s school to an ambassador of Jarrow who knows the
inspiring impact the school has had, and will have, on generations to come.

Right now, our school needs us more than ever and that’s why we are joining
Abby and Drew and contributing to The Knowles Family Fund. We want Jarrow to come out of this crisis thriving and we can make sure that happens by giving to the teachers and staff that have made this school such a wonderful part of our lives. We hope you will join us.

With gratitude,

Jenn and Brad West
Thank you Jenn and Brad, and all who have donated so far! If you haven’t had a chance yet, please consider donating to The Knowles Family Fund. Every single donation makes a difference. Your compassion and generosity are what make Jarrow Montessori the incredible community that it is. THANK YOU for your support!
