Caregivers Month...

Reminding us your job never ends...
Dear Caregivers,

Twenty four years ago, President Clinton wanted to raise awareness of caregiving issues in the hopes that it would increase support for family and friends that were providing care to their loved ones. That year he proclaimed November to be National Caregivers Month. This was 1997, that same year in a study by the National Council on Aging reported that there were approximately 7 million individuals caring for family members. In 2020 there were a staggering 41.8 million family and friends providing unpaid care to their loved ones!

As you know although it is rewarding to care for your loved one, it can also be frustrating and exhausting. With the holidays and isolation of wintertime upon us, it is very important that you take a break, and get some respite, make time for yourself. Let others help when offered. Take care of “you”, mind, body, and soul. You are just as important and loved, as the one you care for.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
