Artist Exhibition Opportunity
Each year, the Arts Committee of the Acton Memorial Library invites Massachusetts artists to submit their work for consideration for solo exhibitions in the Library's meeting room. The exhibition schedule starts in September and continues through the next year with the work displayed in two-month segments.
Submissions are accepted January 1 through March 1. The committee accepts submissions using Google forms. A Google account is required to complete submissions. A Google account can be set up for free.

Completed submissions should include
- up to 10 digital images
- an image list with title, media and dimensions
- artist's statement and resume
Art work must have been completed within the past five years.

In 2020 we are trying something new. Rather than group tech classes, we are offering individualized assistance through our Book a Librarian service.
Book up to 30 minutes with a librarian and receive personal assistance using library resources or equipment. Topics include:
- downloading e-books and audiobooks
- installing or using library apps
- searching the catalog and requesting items
- getting started with a research topic
- using online databases
- using the library's computers and scanners
- formatting a document
- setting up an email account
Appointments are generally available Tuesdays-Thursdays, 2 to 5 p.m., on a first come-first served basis.

As always, feel free to stop by the Reference Desk at any time with questions that don't require uninterrupted assistance. A Reference Librarian is always on duty when the library is open.

Book Discussion Group
Tuesday, February 18
at 7:30 p.m.
Staring unflinchingly into the abyss of slavery, this spellbinding novel transforms history into a story as powerful as Exodus and as intimate as a lullaby. Sethe, its protagonist, was born a slave and escaped to Ohio, but eighteen years later she is still not free. She has too many memories of Sweet Home, the beautiful farm where so many hideous things happened. And Sethe's new home is haunted by the ghost of her baby, who died nameless and whose tombstone is engraved with a single word: Beloved. Filled with bitter poetry and suspense as taut as a rope, "Beloved" is a towering achievement.
