Welcome to Redeemer Life!
We hope you’ve been able to join us over the past few weeks as we’ve taken you behind the scenes into Redeemer’s Visioning activities. Our objectives are threefold to make sure we're:
  1. keeping our members informed,
  2. providing a two-way channel of communication for both dialog and to capture your feedback, and
  3. inspiring you to ask questions and get involved.

Through our Q&As with Visioning Co-chairs, Herb Sanders and Rod Wolff, and Conceptual Plan Architect, Indy Dehal, we hope you’ve been both informed and INSPIRED. Please stay tuned because this is just the beginning of something truly awesome. God has big plans for Redeemer and the communities we serve. If you missed either of the two video Q&As, you will find them both at the end of this newsletter.

The family is hosting a Memorial Service to celebrate Joyce at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church or the Lauren McCluskey Foundation.

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
-- 1 Corinthians 13:13

As always, we'd love to hear from you! A Message from...
 Senior Pastor Dave Noll
Happy Friday Friends...

I hope my message this week finds you feeling well and excited about all the possibilities the season of Lent and specifically, Easter brings.

For me, it is a season of hope. A time of reflection. An opportunity for renewal and new beginnings.

This week Cindy and I, like so many of you, received stimulus checks from the government. While we knew they were coming, seeing them in our bank accounts really drove home just how truly blessed we are as we emerge from a year-long pandemic.

For both Cindy and I, our first reaction was how can we invest this money to do good.

Well, I have to confess, I did momentarily think about betting on the Gonzaga Men’s Basketball team to win the National Championship -- until I did the math. If I bet $400, I’d earn about $100 on top of my original investment. Not a great return.

So instead, we are going to invest in a sure thing and I encourage you to do the same. Please take a look at your stimulus check and prayerfully consider giving all or a portion to Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only gift with a guaranteed, multiplied return.

I call it Kingdom Math. In the Gospel, when the little boy gave 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread, Jesus was able to feed 5,000 people. God multiplies our gifts. I see it happen again and again in our Redeemer community.

So on this Friday, if you are financially able, please consider giving a portion of your stimulus check to see what sort of Kingdom Math God might do with your generosity. When God combines your generosity with His grace we see Redeemer’s mission come to life -- living out the Word and healing ministry of Jesus.

Please enjoy more of my Friday message here.

~ Pastor Dave

When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” He asked this only to test him, for He already had in mind what He was going to do.

Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”

Another of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”

Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

A message from Erica Barton,
Director of Early Childhood Education and Children's Minister:
You've Been Egged!
Have you reserved your Easter Egg Hunt Kits, yet?
The process is FAST and SIMPLE.
Simply go to this LINK.
Provide your name and the number of egg hunt kits you'd like to reserve. Pick-up your kit(s) the week of March 28-April 1.

WHY Egg Hunt Kits?

As we continue to look for the YESES in the world, it brings us great JOY to have found a way to hold Redeemer's Annual Egg Hunt!

The BEST part is that by going OUT into the community with our egg hunt, our gift multiplies. As Pastor Dave always says, the Gospel travels on the platform of relationships. Imagine the amazing relationships we'll be building by sharing Jesus' love in our neighborhoods and all around Spokane!

What is an Egg Hunt Kit?

We are preparing Egg Hunt Kits filled with plastic eggs, prizes and candy -- truly an egg hunt in a bag -- for you to hide in your friends' or neighbors' yards.

No cost. No strings attached. We simply ask that you pray for the neighbor/friend you've 'egged,' and consider other ways you might connect in the name of Jesus.

A special note, you will leave one hidden egg empty to represent the empty tomb. In turn, the empty egg can be registered, by the family, to enter a drawing for a prize valued at $100. You'll find all the details in the Easter Egg Hunt Experience Kit.

Again, please visit our website to reserve 1, 2 or 3 egg hunt kits.

Egg hunt kit pick-up begins on Palm Sunday, March 28.

Please contact the Church Office with any questions (509) 926-6363.

p.s. Thank you for playing Easter Bunny for us!
INTRODUCING: Kingdom Connection Weekend Experience
We are thrilled to announce, Redeemer's online Kingdom Connection Weekend Experience is now available on the Children's Ministry page of our website.

Our Weekend Experience provides a simple way for parents to help their kids connect with their faith, Jesus and Redeemer while worshiping at home.

The curriculum is updated weekly and designed for children ages preschool to 5th grade (preteen). Each age group has its own lessons and activities. Similarly, we provide Parent Guides to help you maximize the experience for your family.
(Click on the image above to experience this week's Preschool curriculum)

You'll also find Parent Cues to equip you with what you need to know when you need to know it, so you can be the parent you want to be. We even provide a free mobile app so you can access information anytime, anywhere. You'll find the app on our website. You can also download it here.

While the past year has been full of twists and turns, and a lot of unknowns, the one constant has been Jesus. He's helped guide Redeemer's Ministry Team allowing us to consistently find the YESES. Our KC Weekend Experience is one of those YESES.

Please contact Erica Barton (ebarton@redeemeralive.org) with questions about our Children's Ministry program.
We're excited to ANNOUNCE -- due to an unprecedented response from the community -- we've added a second Kindergarten class for the 2021-2022 school year.

School registration is officially open and classes are filling quickly. We're currently enrolling 3-, 4-, and 5-year olds and Kindergarteners for Fall 2021. We also offer afternoon enrichment for preschoolers and extended day Kindergarten.

You will find all of the information you need to Register under the School Tab on our website at this link.

A message from Maria Devenport,
Minister of Youth and Families:
Congratulations...

The Rite of First Communion will be celebrated on Sunday, March 21 at BOTH the 8:30am and 10:30am services. Please help us in congratulating the youth who recently completed Right of First Communion instruction. This is an exciting and important step in a young person's faith walk.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” -- John 6:51
Rite of Confirmation

Please mark your calendar for Sunday, May 16 if you or your child is in the 8th Grade and would like to participate in the Rite of Confirmation.

The Rite of Confirmation is a long running Rite of Passage in the Lutheran Church. It is a stepping stone of faith representing the day when a youth stands up, with their peers, and publicly confesses their belief in God (Father+Son+HolySpirit).

You will be receiving a letter, with details, from Maria Devenport, Minister of Youth & Families, next week. Please contact Maria directly with any questions -- mdevenport@redeemeralive.org.

A Message from Josh Williams, Director of Stewardship and Development
Stewardship
Springtime...

Does anyone else get excited to see pops of green and color? Bulbs blooming, buds on the trees... Earlier this week I found myself just standing in the sunshine. Soaking it up and giving praise.

Appropriately, as Spokane emerges from winter, I notice the people around me have more spring in their step. Neighbors who disappeared in November, after the first snow, are back out in their yards enjoying God's Kingdom here on earth.

It is in these moments of beauty that the reality... the awesomeness... of God's gift strikes me hardest (John 3:16).

It is also in these moments that I remember not everyone is aware that God gave His one and only son so that we may have eternal life.

As Christians, it’s our calling to share Jesus' Word with as many people as possible. Redeemer does an amazing job with outreach and discipleship through our many ministries.

Your generous offerings support these ministries -- allowing us to plant seeds and bring the message of Jesus to thousands and thousands of people worldwide.

With all of this in mind, I ask that you prayerfully consider making a special Spring donation, of any amount, to kick off the "planting season." Redeemer is your church. We are the community church. Together let's continue to plant seeds of God's Word and Grace.

As I write, I'm reminded of a very inspiring quote from Reverend Robert Schuller, “Anyone can count the number of seeds in an apple, but only God can count the apples in a seed.

Only God knows our potential and the promise of our future as we continue the great work of Redeemer.
