Your hard work is appreciated!
Access to food was one of the primary areas we received funding requests for during our first round of Disaster Recovery Fund grants.  Here are just a few organizations helping fulfill that need:

Neighborhood House volunteers preparing meals
for delivery to students and prepping boxes for
their food pantry.

Family Core preparing food for the families they serve.

Boys & Girls Club delivering meals to their students and families.

Peoria Grown volunteers packing and delivering fresh produce.

A Word From Our Board...
Ray Lees, CFCI Board Member
H ow did you become involved with the Community Foundation of Central Illinois?
Actually, I expressed my interest to serving on the board to former board member Karen Stumpe and a couple of other board members who were kind enough to suggest my name be put on the board member candidate list.  I've known several of the Executive Directors and many board members over the years and really respected the work the Foundation does in the community.

What do you like about your volunteer service with CFCI?
I like the people! From the staff to the Board members...all excellent people! Mark, Jackie, Jeannette, Sarah and their predecessors are all great people who are passionate about what they do and committed to the CFCI mission. And, that passion is shared. I like the diversity of funds and causes the Foundation and its patrons support. The geographic reach is a great functional attribute as well.  And, perhaps its greatest attribute is the neutral and objective ways CFCI responds to community needs.

What should everyone know about CFCI?
The important role CFCI plays within the philanthropic realm in the region.  As referenced earlier...the apolitical, non-affiliated nature of its practice.

What are you looking forward to the most with CFCI in the next five years?
look forward to the day when the community recognizes the leadership of CFCI in addressing the needs of our region in a nimble, pragmatic manner and as the convener of collaborative partners to better leverage the philanthropic resources of the region for great impact on meeting our needs.
CFCI will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of Independence Day.
