Dear Lower School Families,

After what feels like a long hiatus from school, we are excited to begin the new school year. We look forward to greeting our scholars at our Drive-Through Meet the Teacher event this Monday, August 17 as we embark on another year of cultivating their hearts and minds in the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Below are some important notes and reminders regarding Meet the Teacher. You can also visit greatheartsirving.org/meettheteacher for complete information.
Name Placards

  • Please place your child(ren)’s carline placard(s) from last school year in the front window of your vehicle. This will help us make sure we are getting the right “Desks in a Bag” to the right students. New families should write your child(ren)’s last name and grade level in large, easy-to-read text on a blank sheet of paper.
Arrival Windows

  • Please feel free to come at anytime in your family's window.
  • As a reminder, families with last names beginning with A–L may arrive in the parking lot anytime between 7:30 and 9:00am. Families with last names beginning with M–Z may arrive in the parking lot anytime between 10:00 and 11:30am.
Which line(s) should my family use?

  • Families with Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd Grade students will enter the Green Line and proceed to the location of your student’s grade level where the teachers will be waiting to wave and place your child’s “Desk in a Bag” into your car.
  • Families with 3rd, 4th, or 5th Grade students will enter the White Line.
  • In order to help us serve everyone better, families with students in both K–2nd and 3rd–5th will need to go through both lines.
  • Click here to access maps for both the Green and White traffic lines.
Planners and Nicky Folders

  • Student planners (for Grades 2 through 5) and Nicky communication folders will be distributed in your child(ren)'s "Desk in a Bag" along with their other materials.
See you all very soon!

Sincerely,
Great Hearts Irving Lower School
