2019 Vestry Retreat
Easter Monday Vestry Installation 2019

Your vestry begins a period of intentional reflection this evening and working through Saturday led by outside facilitators. We seek your support in prayer as we commit ourselves to this work:

Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who take counsel at the vestry retreat for the renewal and mission of your Church. Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

"Love your Neighbor" T-shirts available!
Before and After the 11  AM Service

We are working to tell our story and widen the circle of our church community. One way to add momentum to that work is by wearing our T-shirt when you serve in public ministries or run errands around town. You never know when someone will notice and ask about Saint Paul's.

Shirts will be available before the 11:00 liturgy in Tyler hall at the Walk for Water SIGN-UP table and in the front portico afterwards.  We invite all who currently are involved in Walk for Water, Ironman, and Manna Pantry to pick up a shirt to wear in the coming weeks. Should you like to offset the expense, the shirts cost $6 apiece.  We thank Kim Butler and Christopher Huber for the simple and attractive design of these popular shirts.

Please help us show our guests from the community, across the country, and around the world our Saint Paul's love and hospitality.

We pray for the people of the Bahamas and all whose lives have been affected by hurricane Dorian.

If you would like to make a gift to help those recovering from Hurricane Dorian, especially those in the Bahamas, make your check payable to Saint Paul's Church and annotate for Dorian relief, or on our website choose special offering at  saintpauls.org/giving  with Dorian relief in the comments. These gifts will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development where 100% of giving goes to direct aid.

WEAVING GOD'S PROMISES
Leader: Coleman Graham
Location: The First Classroom in CMC

Our bigger children will immerse themselves in an Episcopal formation experience rooted in the stories of our faith as presented in John's Gospel. In this second of a three-year cycle, our children focus on stories of individual encounters with Jesus, transformation in God's love, and the saints of the church. Our theme in this curriculum year is "Once we were no people, but now we are God's people." Every session incorporates theology and history from our Episcopal-Anglican perspective. Questions? Contact  Coleman Graham  or  Fr. Jenkins.

CHILDREN -- 4s to 8, Kindergarten thru 2nd grade

GODLY PLAY
Leader:   Kim Butler and Ivey Coleman
Location: The Godly Play Room

We take children and their relationship with God seriously and seek to provide both space to foster encounters with God and the language necessary to make meaning of those experiences. Within the Godly Play classroom, the Biblical narrative is lovingly presented to children using beautiful materials with an invitation to step into each story with awe and wonder. Children are then allowed time to respond to and reflect on their experience of the story.

Creation Care Guided Tour of Heggie's Rock
Saturday, October 12, 9:30 AM

The Creation Care team invites you to another special guided tour of Heggie's Rock Saturday, October 12, 9:30 AM. Space is limited to 12 people, and RSVP required. Due to the popularity of our April excursion, we're offering another opportunity for those unable to attend previously.   RSVP and questions to Nancy Cercy.

Heggie's Rock is a spectacular granite outcrop spreading over 60 acres and rising 100 feet high, in Columbia County. Saint Paul's will have a private guided tour, which will last over two hours. This natural wonder is noted for its unusually high diversity of plant and animal life because it includes a dry outcrop, forests and beaver-impounded streams. The granite outcrop, Heggie's Rock, dominates. It is here you see exposed granite, lichen and moss covered rock, soil islands and the beautiful vernal pools, or dish gardens, which support rare and unusual plants. Heggie's Rock is owned, preserved and protected by The Nature Conservancy of Georgia.

Participants must be able to walk 2+ miles on uneven terrain, and bring your own water and hat, etc. There are no facilities. More info on the preserve here.
