Student Spotlight - Spandana Gandham
|
|
Hi Raiders,
I am Spandana Gandham, I am pursuing a Master's in Computer Science. I am from Nizamabad which is in the southern part of India. I always had a dream to study my master's in a good university and found Wright State University an excellent choice to get into for its well-known curriculum, which helps in enhancing knowledge through a practical approach.
Professors here are very supportive and welcoming. Before coming, I reached out to many seniors who were very helpful to tackle every situation.
|
|
I also published a book on social issues that we have in India that still needs to be addressed which is available on amazon.in, the title of my book is "Hue & Cry of fragile hearts". I believe in this quote which says "A book is a device that ignites imagination and I hope my book ignites your's everyone's thoughts".
Email us at askucie@wright.edu if you would like to be featured in our next Student Spotlight!

Maintaining status on OPT is still the same as usual
You are permitted only 90 days of unemployment between the start and end dates on your EAD card. In addition, you are required to report the following information through the SEVP Portal while on OPT within 10 days from the change:
1. When you start a new job.
2. When you change addresses.
3. Periods of unemployment.
4. 6-month validation (You can email fei.yu@wright.edu after you update your employment information and residential address through SEVP Portal)
Can I travel back to my home country during OPT period?
Please be aware that if you are unemployed for more than 90 days, you will lose your OPT status. Also, during this uncertain time, we do not suggest international travel as there is no guarantee of open borders.
