For our second installment of our "Spotlight On" feature, we are highlighting one of our star players, Andrew Sipich.
Andrew has been playing baseball since he was 5 years old. His favorite things about the game are the sound of the bat hitting the ball, awesome catches in the outfield and home runs over the fence. Andrew once hit a home run over the neighbor's fence that landed in their pool- a true Splash Ball!
His favorite team is the SF Giants with the Seattle Mariners and Colorado Rockies coming in second and third (Andrew was born in Colorado). Currently, his favorite players are Hunter Pence and Kevin Pillar. He was not happy when the Giants traded away Matt Duffy in 2016.
Being a true fan, Andrew has been to Spring Training in Arizona five times! He even ran into Scott Spolini (another awesome Miracle League Player!) there once! He has a collection of player autographs and has also met some players, notably Matt Cain. He once accepted an invitation to be on the field at Oracle Park, participating in batting practice and other stations, which was fun and exciting!
Andrew has advice on the key to a good swing: "Always, always watch the ball!" Sounds like excellent advice.
As far as the Miracle League, Andrew has this to say "I can't thank you enough for what the Miracle League has done for me!"
Andrew, thank YOU for being such an important part of the Miracle League!
