Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

I hope that this finds you well! I hope that you are able to join us for "Welcome Night" tonight from 6:00-7:45 as our teachers share more about themselves, their beliefs about teaching and learning, and information about the year and how we can collaborate on behalf of our 518 incredible learners. See below for more information. Please enter through DOOR 1 by the main office.

Our students are amazing; I have been seeing so much great teamwork and learning in classrooms, outside, and in the cafeteria. Thank you for entrusting us with your children! We continue to practice routines in our new space, including indoor recess! Tomorrow, we will have an assembly to celebrate our school community. We will sing, dance, meet our Amity interns, and learn more about community members as we celebrate the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month.

2019-2020: PSI Welcome Night - TONIGHT!
Mark your calendar(s)... the PSI Welcome Night is TONIGHT (Thursday, September 12th)! Click HERE for detailed information.

Both classroom and specialist teachers will be presenting information from 6:00 - 7:45 pm. Click HERE to register for FREE child care from district and PSI staff members for children 3 and older. Registering for child care ensures there is adequate Kids Place staff for this event.

PTO News
From PTO... PTO Meeting, September 24th
Please join us for our first Parent/Teacher Organization Meeting on Tuesday, September 24th from 6:30-8:00 in the Media Center. Get an update from our principal, learn about PTO, the structure, opportunities to support the school, and a glance at the year ahead, Child care will be provided for children ages 3 and above. A room parent orientation will follow the meeting.
From PTO... Fall Spiritwear is here!

It’s time for Spiritwear! Orders are due by September 20. New this year, home delivery is available. Or, pick your order up at PSI Monday, October 21 or Wednesday, October 23 from 3-5pm. Please note, these are the only pickup dates available if home delivery is not selected.

A portion of all proceeds go back to PSI, so your purchase will benefit our school, as well as showing school spirit! Fridays at PSI are informally spiritwear/school colors (black & orange) day.

From PTO... Get to know our Amity Interns!
Each year PSI welcomes eight Amity Interns from Spanish speaking countries who assist our teachers in the K-5 classrooms. These interns are either pursuing or have recently completed a college degree with an education focus. The PSI PTO funds 100% of the budget for the interns with the Fall Leer-a-ton and the Spring Carnival fundraising events.

Amity interns live with PSI host families for one semester allowing both an opportunity for greater language learning and cultural exchange. If you are interested in hosting an Amity Intern please email  the Amity coordinators  for more information.
