Flipped: How Jesus Turns the World Upside Down
"Servant Leadership"
John 13:12-17


1.  Jesus our example (v.12-14)

 

a.  "Do you understand what I have done for you?"

 

b.  Jesus' example was the task of a servant or slave.

 

c.  Jesus' example was to be a servant.

i.    Philippians 2:3-8
ii.    Matthew 20:28 & Mark 10:45
 

2.  Live by Jesus' example (v.15-16)

 

a.  Jesus showed us how to serve and forgive others 

even when it hurts.

 

b.  Jesus showed us how to humble ourselves and 

serve even our greatest enemy.

i.    Isaiah 55:8

 

c.  Jesus want us to wash one another's feet in love.

Example- Temperature of the water

 

3.  Knowing and doing Jesus' example (v.17)

 

a.  Simply knowing the truth is not enough. We have 

to live it out.

i.    James 1:22-25

b.  We need to be a servant leader.

 

c.  Serving is not deserving.
