Project Updates - September 2019
Project Launch Event

Over 120 people attended the project launch event held on September 11th at the Residence Inn by Marriott.

Leslie Fournier and Gregg McLachlan from Your Town Rising  shared some great ideas for creative placemaking as well as ways to amp up word-of-mouth in the social media era. See select slides from Leslie's presentation.

Those in attendance were also invited to provide input by using the community chalkboards to complete the phrase "I love the Wharf because..." and to share ideas for how it might be improved by writing a "postcard from the future."
Refreshments were generously provided by the following businesses!
Customer Origin Surveys

During the last week of September, staff from the Economic Development team headed to the Wharf to request input. We asked:

1) Where are you from?
2) What brought you to the Wharf?
3) What new business or service would you like to see at the Wharf?

We talked to over 250 people and got some great feedback! We'll be at the Wharf again in October - come say hi, and have your say!
Next Steps...

In the coming months our team will be continuing with community consultations.  We'll be talking to businesses, event organizers, local and regional organizations, and residents of Gravenhurst.  Watch for the resident survey...coming soon!  Or contact Leanne directly to share your ideas.
