PICTURE OF THE WEEK
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
This week, we kicked off our  #Bettertogether  theme to our students and parents! Students in grades 5-8 were inspired by motivational speaker, Jon Pritikin, as he told his life story and what being a hero really means. Jon discusses team work on our school podcast as well (tune in!). On Friday,  students in the elementary division enjoyed a kick off assembly giving them the opportunity to think about and share out the Kochot (strengths) infused in teamwork. Rabbi Menchel also shared meaningful messages with the students. Interactive lessons and discussions around the books of the month will follow these assemblies throughout the year. Parents learned more details about the program since receiving the kick off letter and video, sent out by our president, Mr. Eli Schilowitz right before the start of school.  Our themes of the moth and curriculum plan were shared at meet the teacher night and the PTA opening event.  We look forward to a year of being  #BetterTogether !

PTA Kicks Off a New Year
It was wonderful to see everyone who came out this week for our annual PTA Opening Event. Parents and faculty mingled and enjoyed a variety of delicious salads and a fun make-your-own-smores station. Rabbi Menchel gave a dvar torah relating to the start of the school year, and encouraged everyone to get involved in the PTA.  Ms. Kletenik spoke about the theme of the year, "Better Together," and how the concept of teamwork will be incorporated into school activities, Table talks, and Podcasts throughout the year.

A huge thank you to Bella and Hesky Kutscher for hosting us in their home. Yasher Koach to Odelia Maman and Jen Toplan for organizing this beautiful event.

This coming Tuesday we kick off our annual chocolate bar fundraiser. This is an amazing - and delicious - way to help support our school. The procedure is new this year - you must opt in for each child who you wish to receive chocolate to sell.  Boxes will only be distributed to those who opt in.  Click here to opt in .

Each box contains 30 bars and each bar should be sold for $2. For each box of chocolate sold, please remit $60 to the PTA - only full, unopened boxes may be returned. Checks made out to YHT-PTA are the preferred method of payment. You may include payment for all boxes on one check.  The deadline to return money is November 30th.  Prize selections will appear in future editions of the Daf Kesher.
