Welcome 2020!
It's good to start a New Year. In Nazareth, it seems like the holidays last for a long time! They celebrate both Eastern and Western Christmas. School resumed this week.

God blessed the efforts of Friends of Nazareth ABUNDANTLY in 2019. We want to thank HIM and our faithful partners for a banner year. A few highlights are:

  • Matching campaigns were met and exceeded.
  • Students joined the Kingdom and grew in their faith.
  • The High School building was made earthquake ready.
  • Many necessary renovations were made to the aged, tired and unsound building.
  • A very successful Mother's Day program was launched. (It will be expanded in 2020)
  • A record number of students attended the summer programs.
  • Over 200 volunteers came from abroad.
  • NBS welcomed a new High School Principal.
  • The first SLU-101 launched with 92 students in attendance.
  • The Potter's Wheel Youth Center for discipleship expanded.

Our beacon for 2020 is found in Psalm 105: 4. Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him. NLT

NBS graduates are attending some of the most prestigious universities in the world. Friends of Nazareth is proud to have partnerships with: University of North Alabama; Dallas Baptist University; University of Mobile; and Oklahoma Baptist University. These Universities give preference to NBS students and in most cases provide partial scholarship.
A group of students from Dallas Baptist University visited NBS and learned about the school and how they can serve at Potter's Wheel during the summer.
In early December, a bazaar was hosted by NBS. The community looks forward to this annual event. Proceeds are used to help the needy in Nazareth and in refugee camps elsewhere in the world.
A shout out to the 7th and 8th grade students who organized and hosted a bazaar for their fellow students. Students were able to purchase gifts for their families. The proceeds were used to support local charities.
Primary grade students presented a Christmas program to the parents and community. They shared the Good News through song and drama.
Young students helped prepare food boxes for the poor and needed at Christmas.
During the holidays, high school students visited the elderly and those with special needs. They served the community. Students not only read the school's values, but they put them into practice. For example: 1. We believe that grace and love are to be our guiding principles. Romans 12: 9-10. 2. We are called to serve. Matthew 20: 26-28. 3. People matter to God. Luke 15. 4. We are powerless without God. John 15:5.
5. Character matters. Hebrews 4:13. 6. Our behaviors should demonstrate reconciliation. Ephesians 2:14-16. 7. It is our responsibility to equip our students to give back. 1 Peter 4:10
NBS honored its staff and their spouses with a lovely banquet shortly before Christmas.
