Last year, the City of Coral Gables mailed a citywide Community Engagement Survey to thousands of local homes and condominiums to find out the overall resident satisfaction. Unveiling of Smart City Kiosks
Join us for the official unveiling and ribbon cutting of the City’s new digital IKE Smart City kiosks on Friday, September 20, 4 p.m . at the corner of Miracle Mile and Ponce de Leon Blvd. Downtown Coral Gables has four brand-new kiosks, three on Miracle Mile and one on Giralda Plaza. The interactive IKE (short for “Interactive Kiosk Experience”) platform will make it easier for our residents and visitors to navigate Downtown Coral Gables, find things to do and places to shop and eat. The kiosks also provide access to city services plus real-time traffic and transit information. Among its fun features are cameras for selfies and interactive games.  
Enjoy Park(ing) Day this Friday
This Friday, September 20, you’ll find on-street parking spaces in Downtown Coral Gables transformed into public places for the day. The City of Coral Gables is once again participating in Park(ing) Day, a global event that raises awareness on the importance of walkable, livable, and healthy cities , encouraging everyone to re-think how our streets can be used. Participating locations this year include in front of City Hall, Capital One, Razzledazzle Barbershop, Grazianos, Torre Companies and CG Chamber of Commerce.
Let's Talk Transportation for Alhambra
The City of Coral Gables is doing its best to address the city’s mobility needs. For that to happen, we need to engage in a conversation with the community to help us draft a plan. A federal grant has been secured to provide traffic calming and transportation options on Alhambra Circle between San Amaro Drive and Coral Way . Bring your best ideas to the Public Workshop on Wednesday, September 25, 6:30 p.m. at the War Memorial Youth Center Theater. Your input is important to us.
Aging Well: Life After 60
The Adult Activity Center is hosting a lecture on Aging Well that is perfect for anyone who is about to retire or is a longtime Medicare policyholder. Miami Herald Business Editor Jane Wooldridge will moderate a conversation among panelists from the Alliance for Aging, Medicare and the Social Security Administration. The event takes place on Saturday, September 28, from 9-10:30 a.m. at 2 Andalusia Avenue.

Biltmore Hotel site of International Rum Conference
Previously held in Spain, the International Rum Conference will be hosted for the first time this year in the United States to be closer to the core rum manufacturing territories. The conference takes place September 25-28 at the Biltmore Hotel and expects the attendance of 2,500 industry leaders, including distilled spirits industry management, hotel and restaurant trade, and other leaders of the rum industry from around the world.
Volunteer your Time to Help the Community
Get involved with your community: Become a volunteer at the Coral Gables Museum and other organizations to help a good cause. A Volunteer Opportunity Fair will take place on Sunday, September 29, from 1-4 p.m. at the Museum, located at 285 Aragon Avenue. The fair will feature several local organizations looking for volunteers. 
Adventure Day for All: October 13
Mark your calendars for the second annual Adventure Day for All , a family friendly celebration in honor of Disability Awareness month. It will take place on Sunday, October 13, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of City Hall, 405 Biltmore Way. This family friendly event is for all ages and will feature a resource fair, challenges, crafts, water activities, food trucks, live entertainment, and more. The event is free.
