Please Support Our Annual Fund
The Annual Fund Campaign is our primary opportunity for school families to participate in the continued success of our school by helping to bridge the gap left by state and local funding. This fund supports existing educational programs, new curriculum development, improves facilities, and supports essential needs of Socrates Academy.

It's Flu Season!
It is influenza (flu) season and we have had some cases among our scholars. It is important to be proactive and keep your child home if signs of illness are present. The most common presenting symptoms include fever, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, and nausea. Your child must be fever free for 48 hours without medication prior to returning to school. As a school, we are vigilant with classroom cleaning and encourage frequent hand washing. Please reach out to Nurse Sara if you have any questions.
Due to ongoing repairs in the elementary building, the Uniform Closet will be CLOSED on:

Parents of Middle School Scholars
This week marks the end of the semester. During the first semester, your scholars were introduced to exciting, new semester-long elective classes (ie. Typing in 6 th Grade, Digital Citizenship in 7 th grade, Life U in 8 th grade). We are excited to share that two additional semester-long electives will be added for this upcoming semester (Music Appreciation and Improvisation/Creative Movement). On Tuesday, January 21 st , students will receive a new schedule with possible changes being made to reflect their placement into one of these new elective classes or into an Academic Enrichment class. Students who are scheduled to be in an Academic Enrichment class received a letter from their ELA teacher last week with information regarding this class. We are excited to see the expansion of our curriculum at Socrates Academy and should you have any questions regarding your child’s schedule, please contact Mr. Newberry, middle school assistant principal (704-321-1711 ext. 123 or [email protected] ).
Crayola Collection Initiative
Our 8th graders are starting a crayon & marker recycling initiative for second semester. We are collecting used & broken crayons and markers to be recycled through Crayola and re-used in pediatric hospitals throughout the country. If your family has any old crayons or markers, please send them in to help us. We are accepting through the end of the year!
