SENIORS' HOUSING FORUM

The Seniors' Housing Forum Planning Committee is proud to present the 2019 Seniors' Housing Forum, which is returning for its 13th year The goal of the forum is to provide guidance for individuals who are planning appropriate housing for themselves and/or significant others.
 
This one-day event for seniors, their families and caregivers provides education about the variety of programs, services, housing options, and community resources available to older adults. Lunch and parking are free for all participants.
 
Sector staff are encouraged to share information about the Forum with their networks. For more information, go online or download the event poster.
 
Call 780-809-8604 to register. Space is limited, so register ASAP to avoid disappointment.
ALBERTA'S SENIORS ADVOCATE WANTS YOUR INPUT
Office of the Seniors Advocate

The role of the Office of the Seniors Advocate (OSA) is to provide resolution support to senior Albertans and their families (individual advocacy), identify and analyse issues and make recommendations to government for improvements to programs and services (issues advocacy).
 
The current Seniors Advocate is Dr. Sheree Kwong See whose term ends December 2019. At this time, Dr. Kwong See is returning to Edmonton to provide a report to the community about the OSA's advocacy work and to seek input from the community on the future directions of the OSA.
 
Input received will inform recommendations to the Minister about the OSA. Everyone is invited to come and hear what the OSA has done to help Albertans and to give input on future directions.
 
Registration is not required for this event.

Help provide trauma informed support within an anti-oppressive framework to older adults who have experienced abuse. This position involves coordinating accommodation and services required by program clients, managing cases and liaising with agencies to ensure client needs are met. 

This is a permanent full-time (35 hours/week) job opportunity. Requirements for this position include a Registered Social Worker designation (college or university), valid first aid certification and police information check (including a vulnerable sector check).
