Greetings!
Jesus was always getting into trouble by hanging out with the wrong people - the tax collectors, sinners, sick and outcast. To those who disapproved of the company he chose to keep, he told a parable about the lost and the found: Which of you, having 100 sheep and losing one, would not go out and hunt for the lost sheep?
This story is less about the sheep and more about the incredible incalculable limitless love God our shepherd has for us. Each one of us is of infinite worth to God. God will never stop looking for us when we are lost and will never, ever give up on us until he has gathered us into his loving arms and led us home. What a gift.
And God wants us to love one another with that same relentless passion and inclusion. No one stands alone. Tall order for sheep, but we can, with the help of our Shepherd.

Campaign highlighting how St. David’s is truly transforming lives through your time, talents, and resources. During the 9/21 & 9/22 church services, we will be distributing a

envelope that will include ways you can support St. David’s in the 2020 calendar year. Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself, the

Rector's Sabbatical Experience

Our rector is back after her three month sabbatical filled with travel, learning, refreshment and rest. Her travel included a 10 day course in Jerusalem entitled "In the Footsteps of Jesus". Join us on September 21 and 22 after each service as she shares her sabbatical experiences.

Youth Bible and Breakfast (BnB)

Starting Sunday, 9/22, we are excited to offer a new year-round Christian education program for children beginning at 10:10 am in the preschool (ages 4+ – 5th grade). Each week’s lesson will incorporate hands-on activities, an actionable challenge, and a reproducible parent page for further interaction at home.

Middle and High School Christian Education begins on 9/22
between services (10:10-10:50) with Bible and Breakfast. High School (grades 9-12) will follow an engaging Bible study with interactive video called
Echo the Story
. Middle School (grades 6-8) will learn about the Bible through much humor in a series called
re:form
. Light breakfast will feed the stomach while the soul and mind are nourished.

St. David’s and St. Gabriel’s Joint Opioid Task Force continues to gather for prayer and fellowship educating ourselves on the rising epidemic of opioid substance use disorder. We are exploring and discerning how we are being called to compassionately serve our neighbors and bring God’s hope and love into a hurting world. Becoming Beloved Community

Save the date! On Wednesday, 10/2 from 6:30-8:30,
our parish will offer its fourth session on Becoming Beloved Community. Following the guidelines of the Episcopal Church and Bishop Curry we will enter a five week committed study based on our prayer book, sacred conversations and how each of us can live into our baptismal vows. It is often said that one key to understanding people is to understand their food - the joy they find in sharing meals with family, friends and guests.
Food for the Soul
will bring us together to better understand the term called “Soul Food.” Everyone has some idea of what soul food is, but do you know where these dishes originated? How they came to be known as “soul food?” Are you aware why/how African Americans have been both celebrated and persecuted based on these foods? Various soul food dishes originated among slave communities and today they are celebrated dishes shared at elaborate Sunday dinners, family reunions, and many have become everyday staples around African American dinner tables. The

potluck picnic will be an “all hands on deck” meal together made up entirely of soul food dishes that have been carefully selected based on historical value.
