We are Debt Free!

I know by now you have all heard the fantastic news that the church mortgage has been eliminated. What an incredible blessing!!

When I joined Saxe Gotha in October of 2016, I was immediately informed of the Debt Free in Three Campaign. I distinctly remember thinking what an admirable goal to work toward and how grand it would be to work with such an optimistic congregation. I must also admit that I thought Debt Free was exceptionally lofty. Nonetheless, significantly reducing the debt in three years would be great; and if Saxe Gotha was free of the mortgage lien and the Trinity lien in 5 years, that too would be incredible.

I have never been so happy to be proven wrong and appreciative for the reminder of what an incredible God we serve. This seemingly impossible goal was a success because of the culmination of three years of prayer, teaching, communication, dedication, hard work and more prayer. I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that played a part in fulfilling the Debt Free in Three Campaign.

The Debt Free in Three Campaign was such a success, that not only did you all completely eliminate the $2.2 million mortgage debt, but you exceeded the goal and made it possible to restore the $47,000 of reserve funds that were utilized to release our secondary mortgage lien from Trinity Presbytery. This is such a testament to the members of Saxe Gotha and to the faithfulness in trusting that if it's the path God is guiding you toward, it's worth it, and He will provide.

I wholeheartedly agree with Pastor Jim that having the burden of our mortgage lifted frees us to better support the work of advancing the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the world! All praise be to God!

Faithfully,
Alisha Hudson
Business Administrator

Current Sermon Series - Blessed Evangelism:
BLESS is a new approach to prayer and evangelism. It's less about downloading information or memorizing scripts, and more about loving our neighbors well. It helps us get "unstuck" and practice evangelism more effortlessly. BLESS is an intentional pathway for persons of all ages who follow Jesus to become like Jesus and join the mission of Jesus. BLESS is an initiative to  Make and Deepen Disciples.

BLESS Small Groups:
BLESS is a new way of thinking about loving our unchurched neighbors and friends and living our faith effectively among them. BLESS consists of five missional practices that help us introduce people to Jesus. We have some groups that are doing the BLESS curriculum that goes along with the sermon series.  These groups are open to any adult of any age, marital status, etc. Please join them to dig deeper into the new year's sermon series and learn how to BLESS people.
