RECAP| Veterans Day Service 2021
On November 11, 2021, the City of Plainfield hosted its annual Veterans Day Service to honor and recognize those in our armed services who sacrificed for our freedom. The program was officiated by Councilman Charles McRae and Commander Cornell Hawkins Jr. with wreaths placed at the monuments at Watchung Avenue & 7th Street and at City Hall. Remarks were made by Councilman McRae, Commander Hawkins, and Assemblywoman Linda Carter. Commander Hawkins also noted that this is the first Veterans Day the U.S. is not at war.

Since the centennial of the WWI Armistice in 2018, The Bells of Peace have been tolled in remembrance at 11 am on Veterans Day. The bells were tolled eleven times by the Plainfield Fire Department, musical selections were played by Jonathan Jones, and TAPS was performed by Dulce Rocio Samayoa of PAAAS.

The City of Plainfield is honored to recognize the contributions of Veterans and their significant impact on our community!

NOVEMBER is Men Health Awareness Month
Men's Health awareness takes center stage during November, and it's an opportune time to take stock of how the men in our community prioritize their health. Despite the heightened awareness of critical health issues that affect males, many still ignore warning signs and carry on silently without reaching out for help or taking the time to address what is most important.
