It was wonderful to see so many parents at the first PTSO Meeting last week.  Please join us for our next meeting on October 10th.

School Council - There's Still Time to Run!

The School Council is comprised of students, teachers, parents and community members who work with Dr. Chisum to examine school policies and make recommendations, as mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This year, the School Council will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 2:30 pm.  (Additional information on School Council can be found here.)

We have two parent seats open for a two-year term on the School Council. The PTSO Vice-Presidents, Kelty White and Beth Cook, are organizing the election this year. If you would like to become a candidate, please send a brief (250 words or less) statement of interest to [email protected]. The deadline to submit a candidate statement is Friday, September 20 at noon

World Challenge ICELAND Summer 2020
The Summer 2020 World Challenge trip will be a 12-day expedition to Iceland departing late June ( itinerary). World Challenge is a unique student-led program where students are immersed in a community and culture different than their own. On expedition student trek, explore, and perform conservation service. They also manage the budget and arrange travel and accommodations. By taking charge, students develop key life and leadership skills.

Community News ... 

WPSAS Welcome Back & Planning MeetingWe are Wellesley Parents Supporting Art Students (WPSAS), boosting the visual and fine arts scene in our schools and community. Please join us as we plan events and strategize grant opportunities. Our meetings are held in the Art Wing at Wellesley High School, offering an opportunity to tour the studios and see student work on display.  Please join us on  Monday, September 23 rd  from 7:00-8:30 PM at WHS,  Drawing & Painting Studio, Room 342.  If you have any questions, please contact  Nina Pascale-Falcone at:   [email protected] .

MOTHERS GROUP MEETING Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 9:45am in room 259 at WHS.   Katie Lynch, WHS Special Education Department, and Maura Renzella, Director of the Wellesley Youth Commission, will facilitate the group.  The meetings offer a forum for parents to discuss issues of mutual interests - school or community related.  All are welcome.  Please join us.  (Save the date for future meetings --  September 26th,  October 24th,  November 21st,  December 19th,  January 23rd,  February 27th,  March 26th,  April 30th and  May 28th.
