A Message from Our Board
2019 has been a very busy year so far! Our first service dog  Tuve was adopted by her Veteran in early February and they are a great match. Jeff is a highly decorated Marine Corps Veteran who was an imagery interpreter during the Vietnam War. Tuve helps Jeff with his public & home anxiety, motivates him to go out for walks and rests next to him to help him sleep. Jeff says he hasn’t slept this well in decades and his wife says the two of them are inseparable! We are thrilled to have found such a great home for Tuve where she is so needed.
Hailey Update
New Dogs
We adopted our second service dog candidate  Hailey in February and she has turned out to be a very smart girl! She is very in tune to people’s moods and will be a great help to her USMC Veteran Jason, both with his anxiety and alerting him when people are close as he is deaf in one ear. Hailey will be transitioning to Jason the end of September and will be with him 24/7. You can check out updates on Hailey’s new adventures on our  website .
We are happy to share that our THIRD service dog candidate and his Marine Corps Veteran are ready for training to begin once Hailey is situated in her new home. Jeremy and his family adopted  Dallas when Dallas was being rehomed and are already working on basic obedience!
In Other News:
In order to help more Veterans at one time, and sooner, we have started  monthly group training lessons for local Veterans who are interested in training their service dog themselves with our assistance. The Veterans train their own dogs if the dog is a suitable candidate, or we find & adopt appropriate canine partners for them. Everyone gets individual attention and homework assignments each month and so far the group lessons are a hit!
Fall Fundraiser
We will be having a  Fall Fundraiser in late October to raise funds for our group lesson program and the care & training of our next service dog Dallas! It will be an online auction and we are currently asking for donations of items to be auctioned off. We have some exciting items! If you have anything you would like to donate (items or gift cards), please contact us and be on the lookout for more details coming soon!
If you or anyone you know is a military Veteran suffering with PTSD and feels a service dog could help, please contact us.  Call, email, or submit an online inquiry form – we look forward to helping you!
