FCC Releases Final Regulatory Fees With Some Relief for Broadcasters
The FCC has released its finalized schedule of annual Regulatory Fees for Fiscal Year 2019, and thanks to the collective efforts of all 50 State Broadcasters Associations and the National Association of Broadcasters, there is some good news for radio stations and satellite television stations.  Read More

Bill Introduced to Prevent Local Drone Regulation
On August 28, State Representative Michele Hoitenga (R-102) introduced legislation to prohibit local regulations on drones that may be more restrictive than state law.  Read More

Former WDMK-FM (Detroit) and WJLB-FM (Detroit) morning co-host Coco is joining Adell Broadcasting's WFDF-AM (Detroit) for a new 7-9 a.m. morning drive program beginning September 9.  Coco did mornings with John Mason at WDMK from 2014 to 2018.   Read More

Cumulus Debuts New 'Gray and Green' Morning Show in Grand Rapids
Cumulus Media has introduced a new morning radio show, "The Gray and Green Show" on WHTS-FM (Grand Rapids). The show features high-profile media personalities Rachael Gray and Jackie Green, and is the first and only morning radio show in West Michigan presented by two female hosts Read More

Former WDET Host Nkenge Zola Has Died
WDET-FM (Detroit) reports that Nkenge Zola, former 101.9 staffer and host of "All Things Considered" has passed away. She began working at WDET in 1976. A couple of years later, she created a WDET program called "Everywhere Music Goes." Read More

Blarney Stone Announces 'Finster in the Morning' on WLDR
Blarney Stone Broadcasting has announced that Sean Finster will be back on the air in Traverse City starting September 3 on WLDR-FM . His new show, "Finster in the Morning" will feature his erstwhile co-host on yet another local station, Abbey Courtney, founder of the "people helping people" nonprofit, Spark in the Dark.  Read More

'Go Screen, Go White' - WLNS Teams Up with the Spartans for Game Day Forecasts
Nexstar Broadcasting's WLNS-TV (Lansing) has announced that it is teaming up with the Michigan State Spartans to kick off the new school year. The station is now the official weather and traffic source for Michigan State Athletics. The partnership will mean the station's StormTracker 6 team will provide pre-game and Fan Fest forecasts on air in the days leading up to a game.  Read More
