Celebrate Women's History Month
SBWPC Members,

This month we celebrate Women's History and today we celebrate International Women's Day!

International Women's Day is powered by the collective efforts of all

From the International Women's Day website: Collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women's Day impactful. Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights." So make International Women's Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.

The theme for this years International Women's Day is #ChooseToChallenge. "Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world." Check out the campaign video below and recommit yourself to the fight for gender equality throughout the world.

There is still time to join us as we welcome Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell as our keynote speaker for this year's Presidents' Circle Event on March 11th at 5:30 PM. More information is below.

Thank you for your continued support of SBWPC!

International Women's Day: 5 female trailblazers leading the fight for gender equity
Among the countless women around the world who are laying the groundwork for a brighter future, here are a few to celebrate on International Women’s Day.

“Women stand at the front lines of the Covid-19 crisis, as health care workers, caregivers, innovators, community organizers and as some of the most exemplary and effective national leaders in combating the pandemic,” according to the UN. “The crisis has highlighted both the centrality of their contributions and the disproportionate burdens that women carry.”
